Major Winter Storm Threat This Weekend — Prepare Now
City of Brazoria Residents and Visitors
The City of Brazoria Office of Emergency Management is issuing this important weather advisory to all residents and visitors following the 2:30 pm update from the National Weather Service (NWS). Confidence continues to increase that a major winter storm could impact our area this weekend, with conditions most likely beginning Saturday morning in Brazoria County and the surrounding region.

What You Should Do NOW
Now is the time to prepare — before conditions begin to deteriorate:
• Grab essential supplies — food, water, medications, and pet supplies.
• Charge phones and backup batteries.
• Plan to stay home and off the roads once the storm arrives.
• Check on neighbors who may need assistance preparing.
• Locate flashlights and other emergency items.

Remember to protect the “Four P’s”: People, pets, pipes, and plants.
This storm is part of a broader system being monitored across the Southern United States that may bring heavy snow, ice, freezing rain, and dangerously cold conditions from Texas into the Carolinas, potentially affecting travel, power, and daily life. Stay Informed!

We will continue sharing updated forecasts, watches, warnings, and any Brazoria County EMA status changes as they are received. Please monitor local news, official county and NWS channels, and alerts from the County Emergency Operations Center.
