The full video of the candidate forum will give you some nuanced insight into the personalities of the candidates that simply cannot be captured in writing. However, at only two minutes per answer, the content is very abbreviated compared to our interviews and articles.

I found myself on stage listening as a parent, and was able to finalize my decision on who I would be voting for. I hope you were able to do the same. Enjoy!

Thank you Naomi McMahon for doing the good work, asking the tough questions, and being an active participant in this election. It was wonderful to spend time exchanging ideas and getting to better know one another. I appreciate your support, and look forward to more discussion in the future.

"I had the opportunity to talk with Toby on Friday for a little over an hour about the School Board Election. We talked about staffing issues, teacher support, the equity policy, COVID, what he can bring to the School Board, what he feels is important in a Superintendent and his personal background. He also asked me my thoughts on the school board, what I would like to see as a parent and so on.
I found Toby very easy to talk to and an even better listener. My 3rd choice for Summit School Board is Toby Babich. I believe that Toby would be an asset bringing fresh ideas to the table. He has experience in team settings/board meetings and has the time to commit to our district. (He recently passed the gavel of president of VRMA to a new president this month) He strongly believes in equity for all students. I believe he can build a bridge during this very polarized election. I also think he will work well by bringing different strengths than my other choices Lisa Webster and Kate Rich Hudnut.
I am still undecided in my 4th choice but it is between Chris Guarino and Johanna Kugler. Both of whom I am highly impressed with."

Like all parents, my family is the heart and soul of my life. From the moment of birth, we nurture, protect, love, care for, and teach our children. When we give our kids to a school district, we place our trust in the district to provide our children the same care, love, protection, and nurturing. As a school board member, I will dedicate myself to each of your children, every day.
