On May 8, 2026, the Walker Sayle Unit hosted an inmate corn hole tournament and a staff corn hole tournament. The winners of each of these tournaments will play against each other next week for friendly competition. Thank you all who participated.

On May 7, 2026, the Walker Sayle Unit held their Fallen Officer Ceremony to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Special thanks goes to Judge Phillip Gregory of the 90th Judicial district court and Mrs. Kathy Swetnam for participating in the ceremony. The Sayle Unit would also like to thank the Middleton Unit for their assistance with the Riderless horse, and all the staff who participated in the ceremony. Following the ceremony, all guests and staff were invited to join the unit in fellowship as a meal and desserts were provided by the Sayle Unit staff. This was a great day of remembrance as staff, retirees, and the public came together to honor all those who gave their lives protecting the great state of Texas.

May 6 - 12 is National Nurses week and the Walker Sayle Unit would like to celebrate our wonderful medical staff for everything they do. Mrs. Berkley and her staff do an amazing job for the Sayle Unit! Thank you for all you do.

The Walker Sayle Unit continued to celebrate their staff today with popcorn and prizes! We appreciate all who contributed their time to assist with showing our appreciation today!

Day 2 of staff appreciation at the Walker Sayle Unit showered the staff with brisket tacos and dirty sodas! Thank you all who contributed and to all the staff who make the unit what it is. We appreciate each and every one of you!

The Sayle Unit kicked off Staff Appreciation week with snow cones to cool the staff off. Snow cones were provided by MTC Director Ms. Hindman, Security Major Britton and Captain Cabral. Some staff also received prizes from the drawing that will be held everyday this week. Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all the staff that make the Walker Sayle Unit an awesome place to work!!
