Since our founding in 1993, we have expanded our services beyond just providing food to encompass essential needs for the community such as housing, financial empowerment, community health, and peer support. In 2023 alone, our organization has impacted the lives of 12,433 Summit County residents which is why we call FIRC the Summit Resource Center. FIRC operates two Community Food Markets, one in

Dillon and one in Breckenridge, that offer free, healthy food choices for our community. Our Summit Thrift & Treasure thrift stores will reopen within our new Sol Center building coming in Breckenridge 2025.

The Thrift Store is officially OPEN today!

And to celebrate, we have some exciting news — we were featured on CBS Colorado!

The SOL Center was built by this community, for this community — bringing food access, financial help, peer support, and mental health care together under one roof so Summit County residents can get what they need without bouncing all over the county.

"This building is the dream." — FIRC Interim Executive Director Carla Decker

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, partner, and neighbor who made this possible. Watch the full CBS Colorado segment here:

A new community building in Breckenridge is trying to make life a little easier for locals struggling to survive in one of Colorado's most expensive mountain communities.

We are beyond grateful for the overwhelming amount of donations we’ve received for the FIRC Thrift Store. As we continue to set up the store, and work through the large volume of donations, we need to temporarily pause so our team can catch up.

Effective immediately and until further notice:
• We are NOT accepting women’s clothing donations
• We have reduced our donation limit to ONE bag maximum per visit

Please visit summitfirc.org/thrift-store or call 970-262-3888 for the most up-to-date information! Thank you again for your generosity and excitement surrounding the thrift store. We can’t wait to open our doors to the community soon!

Thank you to Spencer and Clint for visiting the Sol Center and helping share these stories. Tune in tonight at 5PM and 6:30PM on CBS News!

20 years at FIRC, 7 years as our Executive Director, forever a part of FIRC’s story!

From navigating COVID, to helping turn the vision of the Sol Center into a reality, Brianne Snow has been part of so many defining moments along the way. She reminds us DAILY of why this work matters.
Being named the Summit Foundation’s Outstanding Nonprofit Professional of the Year at the end of 2025 is just one reflection of the impact she’s had on this community.

Her dedication to our community and its members is unforgettable. Thank you, Brianne 🤍
