Six Madison Twp Lions club members were happy to help the Wakarusa Lions club with their Pancake and Sausage sale this morning. The event was held during the Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival. It’s an honor to help our neighboring club. A big thank you goes out to everyone who patronized this sale.

Just want to make the community aware that the Madison Township Lions Club is accepting scholarship applications up to April 20th. Eligible applicants must live in Madison Township or South Penn. Last year we gave out 7 scholarships totalling $6000. There are no requirements on how the money can be spent. You don't have to know a Lion's Club member or have eaten a Lion's pork chop in the past. We raise our money in our community and try to spend it in our community. Cosmetology and trade schools are acceptable. You can message me and I will get an application to you. FYI May 16th is the date of this spring's pork chop carryout. Mark your calendars!

Madison Township Lions are proud to be of service to our community first and foremost, but also to Indiana Lions State projects and beyond. We exist to help those who may be struggling through life and can use a little kindness. If you know someone or a family that needs any kind of support within our community, please let a Lions member know. Also, we are always looking for service minded people to join in our efforts.
Over the last three months, the club has made a donation locally to A Rosie Place for Children, a not-for-profit specialty hospital serving families with medically fragile children so parents and siblings can have a respite as caretakers. Serving as a sponsor for the Madison Township Elementary school PTO's annual Fish Fry fund raising event. Sponsorship for the Open Class Show at the St. Joseph County Fair. Collected used eye glasses and help clean them for the District 25-G Eyeglasses recycling Center.
Donations have been made to five Indiana Lions State projects which are; Cancer Control, Leader Dog School for the Blind, Speech and Hearing, Vision First (Eye Bank of Indiana) and Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. These projects are also supported by Lion Clubs throughout the State. Plus a donation was made to Lions Clubs International Foundation which helps areas throughout the world. All funds donated ti these projects are used for their missions, with no administrative costs.
The club extends our appreciation to all who support our Pork Chop Sales, which make it possible for us to give these donations. Mark your calendar, as the next sale will be held on May 16, 2026. More information about the sale will be forthcoming in a few weeks.

The Madison Township Lions Club has announced a series of significant donations aimed at supporting local families, children, and community programs. During the club’s November meeting, members approved contributions to Camp Millhouse, Cultivate Food Rescue, and a local child with Type 1 diabetes in need of a service dog.
The club approved a donation to support a camper at Camp Millhouse, a nonprofit camp serving individuals with special needs from across the Midwest. Executive Director Diana Breden shared how the camp provides accessible summer programming for participants ages 7 to 75, relying heavily on community support and scholarships to ensure all campers can attend.
In support of Cultivate Food Rescue’s “No Empty Table” Thanksgiving initiative, the Lions donated funds to help provide complete Thanksgiving dinners to ten local families.
The club also approved a donation to assist a family in acquiring a diabetic alert service dog for their five-year-old daughter, which she needs in order to attend school.

October was a big month for our club — and we’re proud to share how our members made a difference right here in our community!

📘 180 dictionaries were donated to third graders at Madison Township, Elm Road, and Meadows Edge Elementary Schools — helping young readers discover the power of words.
🍽️ Funds raised at our Pork Chop Sale — with $3,000 donated to local charities like the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, Center for the Homeless, Hope Ministries, and more.
🎃 We joined Madison Elementary’s Trunk-or-Treat, bringing smiles (and candy!) to kids.
👓 Lions also supported vision projects, washing eyeglasses for reuse and helping more people see clearly.

We’re proud to live our motto — “We Serve.” 💪
Join us at our next meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Madison Township Fire Station!

The Madison Township Lions Club is proud to support local students and promote literacy!
On October 15, a member delivered 180 dictionaries to third graders at Elm Road, Meadows Edge, and Madison Township Schools.
These books are more than pages — they’re a bridge to curiosity, confidence, and lifelong learning. Thank you to our dedicated Lions who helped make this possible!

The Madison Township Lions had an enjoyable meeting on June 10 awarding Scholarships, induction of a new member, and having an interesting speaker.
Five local graduates from three different high schools were given their scholarships. The recipients were Owen Bickel, Bella Wisler, and Silas Laidig from Bremen High School, Mia Lechlitner from Penn High School, and Kaley Gallagher from Marion High School. All five students live in Madison Township.
Past District Governor Lion Marlyn Fast overseen the induction of Mitchell Hunsberger as a new member into our club. Lion Mitchell was sponsored by his father, Lion Greg Hunsberger. We look forward to Mitchell’s continued support and involvement in the club activities.
Ms. Vicki Brown representing Dustin’s Place located in Plymouth, In was the guest speaker. Dustin’s Place provides grief support for children ages 4 to 18 and their families who have lost a parent or sibling through a tragedy at no cost. One out of 10 children will lose a sibling or parent by the time they are 18. Go to dustinsplace.org for more information. The Madison Twp Lions club presented a donation to this organization.

The Madison Twp Lions Club members have been actively engaged in serving the community. We helped the Wakarusa Lions Club serve pancakes and sausage during the Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival on April 26. Then the Wakarusa club helped us sell Pork Chops on May 17. Both clubs had successful events thanks to the great community support.

The lions club enjoyed participating at the Madison Township School’s Trunk-or-Treat event. They had a great turnout. A big note of thanks to the Moore’s for setting up the display.
