The Rescue Ready Foundation is proud to donate 20 doses of Narcan to the Bremen Police Department.

Having Narcan readily available can make a critical difference during an opioid-related emergency. By placing these resources directly into the hands of our local first responders, we’re helping ensure they have the tools they need when every second counts.

We are incredibly grateful for the Bremen Police Department and their commitment to protecting and serving our community. We’re proud to partner with them in making Bremen a safer and more prepared community.

On March 19, 2026 an investigation began on Geoffrey Brad Matthews. Accusations from minors of inappropriate sexual behavior toward them by Matthews. At the time Matthews was a bus driver and parapro at Bremen School Systems. The investigation led to the arrest of Matthews on March 31, 2026. Matthews’ charges included Child Molestation, Grooming, and other charges. On September 8, 2026 Matthews was found guilty of all 13 charges in a jury trial in Haralson County Court. On October 6, 2026 Matthews was sentenced to 50 years do 49. Two other counties, Carroll and Paulding, also have pending cases. I would like to thank the investigators that worked hard on the case along with the Bremen City Schools, The West Georgia Child Advocacy Center and the Haralson County District Attorney’s Office. The trial was the longest in Haralson County history. A lot of time was taken in this trial thanks to all the Jurors who carefully listened to the evidence and the Judge that carefully oversaw the trial. To everyone who had any part in the trial our prayers go out to all of the families on both sides.

🚔 Operation Southern Slow Down is Underway in Georgia 🚔

The Bremen Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across Georgia and the Southeast as part of Operation Southern Slow Down. Our goal is simple: to keep our roads safe by encouraging drivers to slow down and obey all traffic laws.

Speeding remains one of the leading causes of serious crashes and fatalities. During this campaign, officers will be increasing patrols and actively enforcing speed limits throughout our community.

We encourage everyone to do their part:

✅ Obey posted speed limits.
✅ Eliminate distractions while driving.
✅ Buckle up every trip.
✅ Never drive impaired.
✅ Allow extra travel time to reach your destination safely.

Remember, arriving safely is more important than arriving quickly. Help us make Georgia’s roads safer for everyone.

🇺🇸 Celebrate Independence Day Responsibly 🇺🇸

As we celebrate the 4th of July with family, friends, and fireworks, the Bremen Police Department wants to remind everyone that there is ZERO tolerance for impaired driving.

If you choose to drink or use any substance that impairs your ability to drive, don’t get behind the wheel. Our officers will be out in force working to keep our roads safe, and impaired drivers can expect to be arrested.

Before you head out today, make a plan to get home safely. There are plenty of better options than driving impaired:
🚗 Designate a sober driver.
📱 Use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft.
👨‍👩‍👧 Ask a sober friend or family member for a ride.
🏠 Stay where you are until you’re sober.
🚶 If it’s safe and nearby, walk with a friend.

Remember, one poor decision can change lives forever. Help us keep Bremen safe by making responsible choices and looking out for one another.

Have a fun, safe, and Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸🎆

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.
