As the weather is getting warmer and Summer is starting we would like to share some important safety tips to keep you and your family safe.

💧 Beat the Heat
✅ Drink plenty of water throughout the day
✅ Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning
✅ Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
✅ Use sunscreen and reapply often
✅ Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicle
✅ Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke

🏊 Pool & Water Safety
✅ Always supervise children around water — even if they know how to swim
✅ Never swim alone
✅ Keep a phone nearby in case of an emergency
✅ Use life jackets when appropriate
✅ Secure pools with proper fencing and self-latching gates

🚴 Bicycle Safety
✅ Always wear a properly fitted helmet
✅ Follow traffic laws and obey traffic signals
✅ Ride with the flow of traffic and stay alert
✅ Wear bright or reflective clothing to increase visibility
✅ Check your brakes, tires, and chain before every ride
✅ Watch for vehicles backing out of driveways and opening car doors

👷 Working in the Heat
✅ Stay hydrated before, during, and after work
✅ Take regular breaks in shaded or cool areas
✅ Wear light-colored, breathable clothing when possible
✅ Pace yourself and avoid overexertion during the hottest part of the day
✅ Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, including heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, and weakness
✅ Look out for your coworkers and don't hesitate to seek medical help if someone shows signs of heat stroke

Heat-related illnesses, water emergencies, and bicycle accidents can happen in seconds. Taking a few simple precautions can help keep you and your loved ones safe all summer long.
