Mary Gleysteen's local activism update:
At home Actions
To Senators Cantwell and Murray
S.J.Res. 138 blocks sale of 12,000 1,000-pound bombs ($151.8M) to Israel.
S.J.Res. 32 blocks sale of Caterpillar D9 bulldozers ($295M) being used to demolish civilian homes in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon and are the same ones used to kill Rachel Corrie in 2003. Let your reps know you don't want to send Israel more weapons to commit genocide here.
https://www.votervoice.net/mobile/WA4PJ/Campaigns/135771/Respond
To Representative Emily Randall
Please Cosponsor H.Res.317 to Reduce Nuclear Risk(We live in the county that houses the largest concentration of deployed nuclear weapons in the world.)
Emails to the DC office can be sent here.
Sample:
Subject: Please Cosponsor H.Res.317 to Reduce Nuclear Risk
Dear Rep. Randall,
As a constituent in WA‑06, I’m asking you to cosponsor H.Res.317, a resolution calling for practical steps to reduce the risk of nuclear war and strengthen U.S. leadership on diplomacy.
This resolution does not affect force posture or military readiness. H.Res.317 is a non‑binding resolution that urges Congress to support communication channels, diplomacy, and other critical policies that protect our communities.
Given your leadership on public health, community safety, and support for military families, I hope you will consider cosponsoring H.Res.317.
Sincerely,
[Name]
[City, ZIP]
Subject: Arms to Israel
To Rep. Randall
Please support legislation designed to halt US provision and sales of arms to Israel. While I stand with you on most issues, I cannot sign the petition you are circulating to get your name on the ballot for the next election or endorse your candidacy until you reverse your support, tacit and otherwise, of Israel’s genocide in Gaza and widening war in the Middle East.

Mary Gleysteen
1:12 PM (11 minutes ago)
to Mary

Happy St Patrick’s Day,

It’s time to start thinking seriously about making next Saturday’s (March 28) No Kings the largest and most powerful demonstration ever against this authoritarian regime and the many forces that control and enable it.

Please invite your friends, family and neighbors to join you. Bring along someone who has never been before. An “elevator speech” for extending invitations is pasted below thanks to Bainbridge Indivisible.

Here is an example of one elevator pitch:

“I am going to the No Kings march on March 28. Are you going? I am going because I am outraged by this administration’s attacks on our neighbors, illegal wars, and corruption. At times, I feel overwhelmed, but we are not powerless. The march and rally is fun, good for you, and definitely makes a difference. Please join me.”

If you are looking for even more ways to spread the word, there is a webinar sponsored by Indivisible on Wednesday, March 25th from 5-6 pm PT: People Power: How to have conversations about No Kings that move people
