Kitsap County Parks Kitsap County's Park and Open Space system currently includes 79 sites totaling 6,344 acres.

We are committed to providing quality-of-life enhancing opportunities through the management of natural areas and specialized facilities, fostering community stewardship, and offering an outstanding service-oriented environment. This includes Heritage Parks, Regional Parks, Community Parks, Natural Resource Areas and Partnership Properties. The Kitsap County Parks Department is responsible for the

operation of the Fairgrounds & Event Center and the Village Greens Golf Course. Kitsap County Parks offers numerous rental facilities including community centers, picnic shelters and athletic fields. , fostering community stewardship, and offering an outstanding service-oriented environment. 🌲When you visit a Kitsap County park, there's a good chance someone was already there before you.

Our staff maintains trails, cares for natural areas, prepares athletic fields, cleans facilities, plans community events, coordinates volunteers, protects natural resources, and works behind the scenes to keep our parks safe, welcoming, and ready to enjoy.

🔥 Help Protect Our Parks: Fire Safety Matters

Kitsap County Parks has experienced three fires in our parks this week. The causes of these fires are currently unknown, but they are an important reminder of how quickly fire can threaten our parks, natural areas and surrounding communities during dry summer conditions.

Kitsap County is currently under a Stage 2 burn ban, and we’re asking everyone who visits our parks to take fire safety seriously and follow all current restrictions.

• 🔥 Only propane grills are permitted. All other fires, including campfires and wood fires, are prohibited.

• 🚬 Leave No Trace: If you smoke, please make sure cigarette butts are completely extinguished and pack them out with you. Never leave cigarette butts on the ground.

• 🗑️ Pack it in, pack it out: Take all trash and belongings with you when you leave.

• 🚗 Avoid parking near dry grass and vegetation. Hot vehicle components can ignite dry vegetation.

• 👀 Stay alert and be aware of fire danger around you.

• 📞 Report smoke or fire immediately by calling 911.

A little extra caution can make a big difference. Please stay alert, leave no trace, and help us protect the parks and natural areas we all enjoy. 🌲🔥
