Central Kitsap School District's vision is to provide a vibrant and inclusive learning community where all students find their passion and achieve their dreams. The district serves about 11,000 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Silverdale, in the heart of the western Puget Sound region, is considered to be one of the most livable areas in the country. Central Kitsap offers a balanced life
style with easy access to Seattle and excellent recreational opportunities, including saltwater and lake fishing, water and snow skiing, golfing and boating in large protected waterways. The Kitsap Peninsula is home to Naval Base Kitsap, the largest naval organization in Navy Region Northwest. Naval Base Kitsap is our area's largest employer. Twenty-three percent (23%) of our students are active-duty military family dependents. A total of 43% of our students' families are either active-duty military or other Department of Defense employees. The district has two high schools serving grades 9 through 12, one secondary school serving grades 7 through 12, three junior high schools serving grades 7 and 8, three satellite programs, twelve elementary schools, and a home-school support program. In addition, we offer learning opportunities in a non-traditional setting for both junior high and high school students through our alternative programs. Our Mission
Central Kitsap School District's mission is to equip our students with the knowledge and skills to succeed and prosper in an ever-changing global society. Our Vision
Central Kitsap School District will be an academically strong, fiscally sound, and safe learning community.
