Our friends at Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management are bringing "Ready Bremerton" 2026 to Evergreen Rotary Park, and this is one event the whole family can enjoy!
Come test your skills on the climbing wall, then stick around to learn a thing or two at this FREE Disaster Preparedness Fair. There will be hands-on workshops, preparedness resources, and plenty of opportunities to learn how you and your family can be ready when an emergency happens.

Senior Center quilters donate 20+ quilts to the Spokane Fire Relief Center. These beautiful quilts will bring comfort and warmth to the lucky recipients. Thank you Senior Quilters. Several of our quilters were not at the center for the picture.

⚓ Our Navy Chiefs Are Back at It! ⚓

We were honored to welcome our Navy community back for another incredible volunteer day, this time at Ivy Green Cemetery!

A total of 22 volunteers came out to lend a hand, including 20 members of the PACNORWEST CPOA, many of whom are newly selected Chiefs from area commands. Together, they leveled, raised, and cleaned 15 headstones, helping us continue to care for Ivy Green Cemetery and honor those laid to rest there. 🇺🇸

This is the second time in just a few weeks that our Navy Chiefs have stepped up to volunteer with Bremerton Parks & Recreation, and we couldn't be more appreciative of their hard work and willingness to serve our community.

There is something especially meaningful about seeing our military community give their time to help us care for a place that holds so much history.

Thank you to all 22 volunteers for a job well done and for helping us maintain our cemeteries with the honor and respect they deserve.

This will be a hybrid meeting, held in person at the Sheridan Park Community Center (680 Lebo Blvd, Bremerton) with an option to participate virtually via Zoom.

Bremerton residents and utility customers can register for one FREE energy-saving tree through the Arbor Day Foundation’s Community Canopy Program.

The 4th Annual Fall for the Arts Gala & Auction is fast approaching, and we are still looking for more talented youth artists to join us!

Do you know a young person who is always drawing, painting, creating, building, or dreaming up their next masterpiece?

👀 Wondering what’s happening along the beach at Evergreen Rotary Park?

If you’ve been by the park recently, you may have noticed some work happening along the shoreline. Here’s the scoop!

Smith Cove Mitigation Project

As part of the City’s East 9th Street Stormwater Improvements project, Smith Cove at Evergreen Rotary Park is getting some shoreline TLC! Crews are removing old rubble and riprap along the beach to help restore a more natural shoreline and improve the intertidal habitat.

Why does this matter? Removing the large, angular rocks allows the shoreline to return to a more natural slope where sand and gravel can collect. These shallow shoreline areas provide important habitat for plants, small marine animals, fish, birds, and other wildlife.

It may look a little different while the work is underway, but these improvements will help create a healthier, more natural shoreline for years to come.

So, if you’ve been wondering, “What are they doing down there?” Now you know!

Inspired by a very special therapy dog named Bean, Never Bean Better Day encourages us to spread a little extra kindness, lend a helping hand, and enjoy life with the same enthusiasm our dogs seem to have every single day. 🐾

So grab your furry best friend, head outside, take a walk through your favorite park, play a game of fetch, and spread a little “Bean wuv” along the way! 🌳🐕☀️
