A few weeks ago our 4th graders here at Green Mountain had the opportunity to go to the water festival! The Water Festival is a Kitsap Public Health Department festival that focuses on the necessity of clean water, how their actions affect water quality, what causes and effects of pollution have on the environment, and the importance of water conservation. Students participate in a water magician show, attend various sessions, and even had the opportunity to do a gyotaku. This Japanese tradition is a fish print that was used to record the size and species of 19th century fisherman. Overall, the kids had an awesome day and learned so much about water! ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŸ๏ธ

๐ŸŽ‰GM Staff Spotlight๐ŸŽ‰
Today we are honoring and recognizing our fearless leader, Principal Cyndi Garber!! When asked what her favorite thing about working at Green Mountain is she said, "One of my favorite things about Green Mountain is the strong sense of community that exists among our students, staff, and families. Our students bring so much energy and joy each day, and it is rewarding to watch them grow academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the year. Our staff consistently go above and beyond to support one another and create positive learning experiences for students, even during challenging times. I also deeply appreciate the partnership we have with our families, whose encouragement and support help make Green Mountain such a caring and connected place to learn and grow."
We thank you each and every day Cyndi for leading us with pride and caring for us unconditionally. We could not do it without you! ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š

This week, our 2nd grade classes (Bower, Sherbesman, and Langholff) had a magical moment as they released the butterflies theyโ€™ve been raising in their classrooms!๐Ÿฆ‹
Over the past few weeks, students carefully observed each stage of the butterfly life cycle, learning firsthand about growth, change, and natureโ€™s wonders. The butterfly release was the perfect celebration of their hard work!
