Today’s elementary menu included Mozzarella Sticks, Popcorn Chicken with a Dutch Waffle or an Uncrustable with Cheez-Its!

⭐ Texas-made + locally sourced! 🤠 Our popcorn chicken is made right here in Texas by Pilgrim’s Pride! It features whole-grain breading with no added soy protein. Plus, all of our milk is locally sourced! 🥛💚 We love bringing our Cubs delicious options while supporting local foods! 🌟

Today, we had a blast participating in Wellness with Cubs! 💚 Brenham Middle School 6th graders toured different stations around Cub Stadium to learn about healthy habits, fitness, and nutrition.

At our station, students learned about Blood Oranges and Texas-grown produce as we celebrated the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Farm Fresh Challenge!

From discovering new foods to learning how nutrition fuels growing bodies and active minds, we loved helping our Cubs see that healthy choices can make a BIG difference! 🍊

🎀🍓 Think Pink. Drink Local. 🍓🎀

We’re taking on the Texas Department of Agriculture Local Foods Challenge this month with a deliciously pink twist! 💗

Our students are enjoying local strawberry milk while we support the farmers and producers who help bring fresh, local foods to our schools. 🥛🍓

And because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re turning our milk pink to show our support for those affected by breast cancer. 🎀

💗 Local food. Healthy choices. Big support.
🍓 Sip local. Think pink!

🍊 Making Every Bite Count at Brenham ISD ! 🍊

Texas A&M University - Department of Nutrition Dietetic Intern, Brooke, recently conducted a Plate Waste Study on orange slices and discovered that only 35% of students are finishing their oranges completely.

We need your help to reduce food waste! 🍽️ You can support our efforts by encouraging your students to only select the healthy foods they enjoy in the cafeteria, without feeling pressured to take items they won't consume.

Together, we can fuel students while keeping good food out of the trash! 💚 Brenham Elementary School Krause Elementary School

🍓🍌 Strawberry Banana Smoothie Taste Test!

This morning, our Texas A&M University Dietetic Intern, Brooke, created delicious strawberry-banana smoothies for students at Krause Elementary School to sample!

The verdict? A total hit! 🙌 We’re excited to continue to test this item across the district and possibly add to our menu in the future!
