City of Brenham Fire Station 2 grand opening ceremony, 10:30 am, June 5, 2026.

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY for the “Grand Opening” of Fire Station #2 located at 3007 James Nutt Blvd. Opening Ceremony begins at 10:30am and will be followed by a catered lunch by Chick-fil-A, donated Blue Bell ice cream😋 and plenty of delicious cake! A special appearance of the Houston Fire Department “Pipe and Drums” will be preforming during the ceremony, don’t miss out! Everyone is welcome to tour the station and our fire trucks. Come out and meet our firemen and staff! We are excited to celebrate this historical moment!

We have exciting news.......the Grand Opening of Fire Station #2 is official next Friday, June 5th @ 10:30am located at 3007 James Nutt Blvd! 🚒💙
After the ceremony and ribbon cutting, join us for an open house where you can explore the station, enjoy a lite lunch, and meet the firefighters who serve our community every day.
Community members of all ages are invited to attend. We look forward to celebrating with you!

COMING this SUMMER in JUNE: Citizen101

Ever wondered how your city services work behind the scenes? Curious about career opportunities in public service? Want your kids to see real equipment used by first responders and local departments?

Our Brenham Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library has created Citizen101 — an interactive presentation series designed for ALL ages!

Each Monday from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM, local city departments will share:
✅ Services available to residents
✅ Career opportunities for teens and young adults
✅ Hands-on equipment demonstrations for kids
✅ Local history, heroes, and community stories

This summer series is part of our celebration of America250 and Library125, with the goal of bringing citizens closer to the people and services that help our community thrive every day.

Whether you’re a lifelong resident, a student exploring future careers, or simply curious about how things work in our community, Citizen101 is for you!

June 1 - First Responders
June 8 - Public Utilities/Electric
June 15 - Animal Services/Joint Adoption Event
June 22 - Main Street Brenham

Fire crews are on scene where open arrival heavy smoke showing at Jeffries and Ewing. Assisting crews are Meyersville, Salem, and Chappell Hill assisted. Brenham PD , DPS, and Washington County EMS.

The fire is under control and the Fire Marshall is working to determine cause.

🚑❤️🤍💙Happy EMS week Washington County EMS❤️🤍💙🚑! We surprised the whole crew with a basket full of snacks, fruit and the much needed energy drinks for those long exhausting hours. This week we celebrate the incredible EMS professionals who answer the call every day with courage, compassion and dedication from life-saving care and emergencies to comforting patients in their most vulnerable moments. EMT’s and Paramedics make a difference far beyond the sirens. We are proud to work beside you all and serve the best County in Texas….Washington County!
