The store is beginning to show emptier shelves all the time. I'm selling hundreds of yards of fabric and lace. That's been wonderful.
Big News. After carrying both vintage and the newest Madame Alexander dolls for 15 years I'm ready to clear those shelves, too. Next week we'll be returning all of the vintage dolls on consignment to their owners. We're getting serious about the move. So ma
ny of you have been thinking over some of the dolls to finish a collection or two, but time's almost up. I don't like to pressure sell, but it would be a shame to come in only to find the doll you've been thinking about gone for good. Come in Tuesday (we're hoping) thru Saturday until Christmas 11 until 4 or 5 depending on how busy we are. Grab the bargains since they're at such a low price now. Dolls have been marked more than half off and then we take an extra percentage off your total ticket price. You're looking at way below wholesale prices on over half the store.

All of the Festivals and Round Top Antique "month" is beginning. Perfect timing for us to move into the second faze of our selling out the store. We've sold a couple of displays and machines, so are now ready to start selling fabric and notions. I just have to get into the shop and price all those HUNDREDS of yards of gorgeous fabrics for little girls, or dolls dresses.

Everything in the store seems to already be marked down now with orange stickers. We're taking another 20 % off of your total ticket at the register. You're going to find many things will be priced to wholesale prices this way. The only exception to the 20% sale will be the Adora Dolls. They're marked down 10% only, and won't be going any lower than that until they're gone. I'd just put around 40 new ones on the shelf for my Holiday shopping season, and just coulnd't mark them down much.

I try hard to come in on Saturdays when I can. Otherwise I'm in and out of there at all odd hours. I miss all of my "Little Angels" and LOVE it when we happen to be in the store at the same time. Doctor tells me all I can do for now is rest a lot and try to eat like I've never eaten before. Doesn't sound too bad at all does It?

As most of my customers know, we have one of the best inventories of WEBKINZ they've seen anywhere else. We are a Ganz dealer and don't hike our prices like the secondary market stores have to. You'll find cute little critters that have been retired for a couple of years all the way to the newest that Ganz has to offer. Not only that, we sell our regular Webkinz for just $13.99. Today I began to put out some of the best Ganz has had...dragons, dogs, turtles, dinos, etc. There will be hundreds set out in the store by Thursday morning. Be sure to bring the kids for their "back to school" treat, or come stock up on some really special Webkinz for the holidays.

MAJOR SALE IN THE STORE!!! We're taking at least 10% off all the new dolls that had come in for Christmas or Holiday shopping. The more you buy, the more I wheel and deal.

I've started putting all the wigs out for $10...some of them retail at $40.

There's a basket of bloomers and pantaloons I've marked down to $1.00. Let your daughter dig through and have some great little play clothes.

Yesterday the first classified ad went out in the local paper. Also 3 ads were placed in Crags List. Messages are coming in to see if we have particular dolls and others wanting to know how to get here. Locals are still coming back in to buy more early Christmas presents. Next week ads go out in Bryan Eagle and Houston Chronicle. This should really get exciting!

The sale is still going strong with many of you coming in for early Christmas shopping.

Because I'd already purchased the Adora Dolls and a couple of really neat collections of Barbie dolls for our Christmas season, customers have found some fantastic bargains. I still have a decent bunch of dolls to choose from, but Friday our ads in the paper will come out. We expect to be hit pretty hard after that with prices dropping on many items and ads going next week to Houston and College Station papers.

Don't wait too long for the "pick of the litter". We've already seen several people very disappointed when the doll they came back to buy had already been sold.

Our store hours are more erratic than ever. So much going on with us right now. We're trying to keep the doors to the shop open as often as possible. If you're coming into town you might want to call ahead and we'll try to post times for that week in our answering message. We're also trying to make appointments for customers who need to pick up repair.

I've so pleased with the response we're having to our close-out sale! All we've done so far is tell customers as they come in that we're having a percentage off the total ticket, and they're really buying. Yesterday we managed to get some sale signs up on the windows, and later this week I'll begin putting ads in Houston, Austin, College Station, etc. That should bring in scads of early Christmas shoppers. It's been very touching to hear people say how much they've enjoyed my little shop and how much they're going to miss it, and miss us. I love my customers!

I'm very sad to announce I'll be closing my doll shop in a few weeks. We made the decision a few days ago and started a sale in the store just for my regular customers. Next week I'll have 10% off the total sale for regs. and then the next week that price will open to the public. The next week the percentage will drop to 20% off. I have shoes, Webkinz, doll clothes and many other specialty items marked down around 30% to 40% now. I'd already ordered my dolls for Christmas and now have shelves full of my best sellers. If you've been wanting one (especially the Adoras) now is a great time to come pick her out. After two weeks I'm not sure what'll be left to choose from. Any questions? What a fun day in the store! So many little girls in since school is out. Four little girls came in with their Nonie and all went home with dolls and Webkinz. Phil took our picture and "pretended" to point the camera at his face instead of at us. The 10 year old began to laugh and told him he was doing it backwards. Lot's of smiles for the picture after that.

How cute is she? I think she really enjoyed being in The Doll Shop today. Thank you for coming in!
