Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service provides programs, tools & resources that teach people how to improve agriculture & food production, advance health practices, protect the environment, strengthen our communities & enrich youth. What is 4-H All About?

4-H IS MORE THAN JUST A CLUB! 4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. 4-H

is about having fun, learning, exploring and discovering. More than 65,000 Texas youth are enrolled members of 4-H community clubs in Texas. Another 850,000 Texas youth get involved in 4-H through special educational opportunities at school, in after school programs, or at neighborhood or youth centers. These youth live in cities, suburbs, small towns and rural communities.

4-H gives them a chance to pursue their own interests – from photography to computers, from building rockets to raising sheep. They go places – to camp, to state and national conferences and they learn to be leaders and active citizens. In 4-H clubs, they serve as officers and learn to conduct meetings, handle club funds, and facilitate group decision-making. In a growing number of communities, 4-H youth serve as youth representatives in municipal or county government or as members of Teen Courts. They give back to their communities. 4-H members get involved in volunteer projects to protect the environment, mentor younger children and help people who are less fortunate.

Attn: electrical work is being done at the expo tomorrow, September 2, 2026 and we may be in need of a generator that can run our polar ice box during the time the power is down at our 4-H concession stand! We have it fully stocked for the fair! Please contact us if you think you could assist. We appreciate our community!

💚 September 2 Community Service Opportunity 💚

Washington County 4-H members, join us tomorrow as we deliver 50 Soda Cake Boxes to the Brenham Pregnancy Center! This is a great opportunity to give back to our community and show your 4-H spirit.

📅 Tuesday, September 2
🕓 4:00 PM – Meet at the Extension Office to help load cake boxes
📍 4:30 PM – Meet at the Brenham Pregnancy Center for delivery and a group photo

🎉 A HUGE shoutout again to all of our amazing volunteers who helped make our Soda Cake Boxes! 🎉

Thanks to your hard work and generosity, we already have three local organizations that have agreed to help distribute these boxes to families who may not otherwise have the opportunity to celebrate with a birthday cake. ❤️🎂

Now we need your help with the next step!

🚗 Help Deliver Soda Cake Boxes & Spread Some Cheer!

Volunteers will meet at each organization, help deliver the boxes, and take a group photo with the organization. This is a great opportunity to see the impact of your service and help bring a little extra joy to local families.

We are incredibly thankful for our amazing 4-H members and volunteers. Their hard work and willingness to lend a helping hand truly helped get us ready for this year’s Washington County Fair. We could not have gotten everything done without each and every one of them!

🍀 TODAY IS THE DAY! Come out at 12:00 noon! 🍀

The Washington County 4-H Concession Stand is looking for some HELP to make sure it's ready to serve those budget friendly meals at the 2026 Washington County Fair! We are having a CLEAN UP/Set Up Day TODAY, Sunday, August 23, 2026. Please check out the flyer below and let us know if you have any questions! This is a great community service opportunity as well as a chance to learn how the concession stand works before your shift!
