🐾 Found Dog🐾

This beautiful dog followed a Brevard resident home while they were walking near the Brevard Music Center. The dog tagged along all the way to the resident's home on Probart St. The dog is very friendly and well-behaved. He looks to be a black lab.

If this dog belongs to you or someone you know, please contact the Brevard Police Department at 828-883-2212. Let’s help this pup get back to its family! ❤️

We’re beginning to think Lt. Jason Page may secretly be a bird whisperer. 🦜

During today’s CPR class, a little visitor got lost and flew into the PD looking a little banged up and confused, bringing training to a brief pause. Lt. Page scooped up the tiny guy, gave him a safe place to settle down for a minute, and helped him get back outside once he was ready to go.

Safe to say the little fella found the right place to land. 💙

We would like to send a big THANK YOU to the good people over at the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home who provided us (and other first responders) with a delicious BBQ lunch on Wednesday. This was such a wonderful gesture of support during Police Week. 💙 Moody-Connolly Funeral Home

The NC Highway Patrol's "Move Over" Campaign may be coming to an end over the weekend, but the message never does.

ALWAYS move over for law enforcement, first responders, and tow trucks on the side of the road.

It’s not just the law—it’s respect, responsibility, and it saves lives.

Thank you for helping keep our community and those who serve it safe every single day.

🚔 BEHIND THE BADGE: Getting to Know Your Officers 🚔

Each month, the Brevard Police Department will highlight one of the exceptional men and women who proudly serve our community through our new “Behind the Badge” series.

For our very first feature, we are proud to introduce Officer Jesse Wallin. Officer Wallin represents the professionalism, compassion, and dedication that help make Brevard a special place to live and work.

We invite you to take a few moments to learn a little more about one of your public servants — both in uniform and beyond the badge. 💙

During National Police Week 2026, observed May 10–16, the Brevard Police Department joins agencies across the nation in honoring the service, sacrifice, and dedication of law enforcement officers who work each day to protect and serve their communities. This week also serves as a solemn reminder of the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and the families who continue to carry that loss.

We would like to sincerely thank the City of Brevard for officially recognizing National Police Week through a proclamation in support of the men and women of law enforcement. We are grateful for the continued support shown to our officers and our department.

The profession of policing is built on service, commitment, compassion, and courage. We are proud to serve the citizens of Brevard and remain committed to strengthening the relationships and trust within our community.

Please join us this week in recognizing and thanking the officers, dispatchers, and support staff who dedicate themselves to keeping our community safe each and every day.

🚧 North Carolina Work Zone Awareness Week 🚧

The Brevard Police Department reminds our community that "Work Zone Awareness Week" is currently underway.

Work zones aren't just an inconvenience to you as a driver. They are active workplaces where crews are performing critical and often dangerous jobs. This is a great time to refocus our driving habits and commit to safer roads:

✔️ Obey posted speed limits
✔️ Stay alert for sudden stops or lane shifts
✔️ Eliminate distractions while driving

Safe driving saves lives. Please slow down and show respect for the workers building and maintaining our roadways. The men and women working in these zones deserve to return home safely at the end of every shift. 💙
