Congratulations to Officer Joshua Norton on graduating from the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program at A-B Tech!

Over the past several months, Officer Norton successfully completed more than 900 hours of rigorous academy training, developing the knowledge, skills, and professionalism required to serve our community as a law enforcement officer.

Graduating BLET is a significant accomplishment and marks the beginning of an exciting career in public service. Officer Norton is scheduled to begin his field training with the Brevard Police Department next week, where he will continue learning alongside our experienced officers while serving the citizens of Brevard.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Norton on this achievement and wishing him success as he begins the next phase of his law enforcement journey.

🚔 Help us win the Battle of the Badges—but more importantly, help us save lives.

On July 22, the Brevard Police Department will be competing in the 1st Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive against the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office, EMS, and Fire Department.

Yes, we're absolutely in it for the bragging rights. 😎🏆

But the real victory is making sure blood is available when someone in our community needs it most. Whether it's a child, a trauma victim, a cancer patient, or someone undergoing emergency surgery, blood donations save lives every single day.

We're asking our friends, families, and supporters to come out, roll up a sleeve, and donate on behalf of Team Brevard PD. It only takes a short time, but the impact can last a lifetime.

School is officially out in Transylvania County! That means you'll see more children walking, riding bikes, and enjoying their summer adventures throughout our neighborhoods.

Please help keep them safe by:

🛑 Slowing down in residential areas
👀 Staying alert for children who may enter the roadway unexpectedly
🚸 Yielding to pedestrians at crosswalks
📵 Putting the phone away and focusing on the road

A few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference. Let's work together to make this a safe and fun summer for everyone in our community.

Today, on Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

As we spend time with loved ones this holiday weekend, may we do so with gratitude for those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy today.

🐾 Found Dog🐾

This beautiful dog followed a Brevard resident home while they were walking near the Brevard Music Center. The dog tagged along all the way to the resident's home on Probart St. The dog is very friendly and well-behaved. He looks to be a black lab.

We’re beginning to think Lt. Jason Page may secretly be a bird whisperer. 🦜

During today’s CPR class, a little visitor got lost and flew into the PD looking a little banged up and confused, bringing training to a brief pause. Lt. Page scooped up the tiny guy, gave him a safe place to settle down for a minute, and helped him get back outside once he was ready to go.

Safe to say the little fella found the right place to land. 💙

The NC Highway Patrol's "Move Over" Campaign may be coming to an end over the weekend, but the message never does.

ALWAYS move over for law enforcement, first responders, and tow trucks on the side of the road.

It’s not just the law—it’s respect, responsibility, and it saves lives.
