A health alert has been issued for our region due to the heat index. Stay informed and take steps to prevent health-related illness.
• Drink plenty of fluids
• Limit caffeinated, sugary, or alcoholic drinks
• Avoid outdoor activity from 11am to 4pm
• Take frequent breaks
• Stay in air conditioning as much as possible
• Watch for symptoms of heat stroke and heat exhaustion
• Check on loved ones and neighbors

On Saturday, April 25, Brevard Police Department NC is hosting a local collection for the National DEA Drug Take Back Day at CVS in Brevard (371 Asheville Hwy).

CARE Coalition will join them and provide information and resources on substance use prevention.

Bring your old, unused, or expired over-the-counter and prescription medications to be safely disposed of.
