The T.C. Henderson family would like to congratulate our Teacher of the Quarter for the 4th 9 weeks, Mrs. Chandra Thrift! Mrs. Thrift teaches 3rd and 4th grade reading and is a wonderful teacher and colleague! Way to go Mrs. Thrift!

Some of our advanced level animal science students in Mrs. Clayton's class at BHS got to experience delivering a calf this afternoon. We’ve had torrential downpours this week so they decided to bring mama and baby into the barn to avoid the flies & flooded fields.

Last week, the TCS School Nutrition Department picked up 144lbs of Organic Romaine Lettuce from Clem's Organic Gardens in Pisgah Forest. We will be serving this lettuce in all schools this week and next week! This purchase was funded through ASAP's Farm to School Grant awarded to Transylvania County Schools. Clem's Organic Gardens is GAP certified, which is a state requirement for farmers to sell to School Nutrition programs. We are so excited to partner with our local farmers!
