📚💙 Back to School Safety Reminder 🚸

As our students head back to school, we’re asking everyone to help us keep them safe.

Drivers, please slow down in school zones, stay alert, stay off your phone, and watch closely for students in and around crosswalks.

Parents, please take a minute to remind your children to use designated crosswalks, look both ways, and when a crossing attendant is present, wait until they are directed to cross. Even when traffic appears to be stopped, the attendant may see something they don’t.

A little patience and extra attention from all of us can make a big difference. Let’s work together to make it a safe and great school year! 💙🚔

You don't have to go home, but you can't swim here.

Due to a lifeguard shortage, pool season is ending a few weeks early this summer. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Franklin Pool when it re-opens in May for the 2027 season!

As always, any questions can be directed to the Swim Club Management Group at 828-348-4770.

Restrooms are the best rooms, and here at the #1 spot in town, the potty don't stop 'til 8 p.m.!

We know they're not the single most glamorous Brevard facility, but our public restrooms are the unsung heroes of any trip to the park, downtown, and along the greenway. So, do yourself a favor and plan ahead before you roll out; familiarize yourself with the City's public restroom locations so that your next pit stop is a casual skip to the loo rather than a frantic race against time.

• The City Hall restroom (95 W Main Street) stays open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. year round.
• The Franklin Park restroom (109 Lakeview Avenue) is also open all year round from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• The restrooms at the Jimmy Harris Railroad Depot Park (390 Railroad Avenue) and Mary C. Jenkins Community Center (221 Mills Avenue) are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the summer and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. the rest of the year. ("Winter" hours begin the first day of fall.)
