Mittens has been missing since 8/22/26 in Dennis, near the Brewster line.

From her owner: PLEASE HELP BRING OUR CAT HOME!!

Our indoor cat escaped from our seasonal home at Old Chatham RV Resort on Old Chatham Road in South Dennis on Friday night, August 22. The location is around Route 134 and Airline Road as well.

Our cat, Mittens, is a long haired gray and white cat. She is 10 years old. She is a very friendly cat. The Dennis Animal Control is aware of her, all local animal hospitals as well as shelters.

At this point, we believe that Mittens has been taken in by someone perhaps thinking she was a stray cat. Or, she has wandered off to a neighborhood near the missing area. We love her and are heartbroken and just want her home with us.

If anyone knows anything or has seen her, please let us know. She has never been a night without us and we want her back in our home where she's loved and missed.

Please call her owner at 845 596 7082 or Dennis Animal Control at 774 352 1400.

Thank you for helping us find Mittens

Today is the second day of the 2026 Brewster Police Department Police Youth Academy for children. During the Youth Academy the children get a tour of the Police Station and there are programs put on by members of the department where the kids learn what we do.
Today’s program was on Animal Control. I did a power point presentation on what Animal Control does, the types of rescues we do, and on being kind and humane to all animals. Then we took the kids outside to see the Animal Control Vehicle and equipment. My own dog, a Labrador Retriever named Ryder, came to work with me today and I used him to demonstrate pet safety. I showed the kids how to locate a microchip in a dog and explained how microchips work to help lost animals get home. Ryder put on a small obedience, scent work and agility demonstration and interacted with the kids. Everyone had a great time!
