We are aware that there is a fire on Foshee Rd between Sardine Rd and 113. The fire is contained in a Pit and fire lines have been plowed around and crews have been doing regular checks on the fire. The fire has been burning for more than a week and due to the fire load the fire is expected to burn for several more weeks. As the winds shift the smoke conditions will change. Again we are continually monitoring this fire. We ask you use extreme caution while driving through the area as smoke may be over the road if you can’t see the road turn around. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

On Saturday April 11th Pineview-Foshee VFD responded to a brush fire near Foshee rd and Hwy 27. Units immediately requested several departments to respond due to the threat to nearby houses, and a petroleum pipe line that ran through the area. The roads were closed down due to smoke conditions and for the safety of the crews working on dozers as well as on side of the road. There was one structure that sustained minor damage. We are happy to report that no homes were loss and no one was injured. The fire was a little over 100 acres total. We would like to thank all the responding fire departments as well as the EMA director (that sent out the alert to peoples phone in the area. This is a new thing for our area and the first time that tool was utilized), ALEA for the use of the helicopter relaying important information to the dozer crews and the Alabama forestry commission for the lines they made containing the fire, Escambia county sheriff office for helping with traffic and the dispatchers for relaying between multiple agencies and Newman EMS for medical stand by.
