Last week, our Fire and EMS members had a busy start of the week. Last Sunday we stood by at the in Croton with Croton On Hudson Emergency Medical Services, Croton EMS Explorer Post 5500, Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Buchanan FD, and Montrose FD. Then on Monday night our EMS members and members of the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department got some hands on training for stop the bleed!

On the 4th of July, your Briarcliff EMS volunteers were out in full force. Along with the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department we stood by for 2 different firework events. 53B2 served at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club with Scarborough Engine Company - Engine 92 - BMFD, and 53B1 provided coverage at the Trump National Golf Club with Briarcliff Fire Company. Just as the fireworks were finishing up, 53B1 responded on a call and transported a patient to Phelps Hospital and were back in service in about an hour.

In the midst of EMS Week, we are very proud to celebrate some of our incredible members who were award recipients at the WREMSCO Award Event 2024 yesterday! We are immensely proud of the hard work, commitment, and dedication of each one of our Briarcliff Manor EMS & Briarcliff Manor Fire Department members in serving the community, and we thank you for everything you do.
🎖️Youth Provider of the Year: Daniel Sugrue. Recognized for dedication, responsibility, professionalism, ingenuity, special skill, or insight in the EMS community.

🎖️Life-Saving Awards: Stephen Sugrue, Daniel Sugrue, Vincent Nienstedt, and Kamil Ramkaran, for their outstanding emergency medical care that resulted in a life saved during an incident on September 2nd, 2023.

🎖️EMS Citation Awards: Sean Gonder, Gianna Galiani, Thomas Farrington, James O’Donnell, George Racz, Robert O’Hanlon, John Marcel, and Carl Labruzzo, for providing critical assistance on scene that resulted in a life saved during an incident on September 2nd, 2023.

At 9:00 AM Saturday, Briarcliff Manor EMS was dispatched along with for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. While units were responding, car 2052 updated that a 2nd ambulance was needed. As Briarcliff’s other ambulance was already on scene of a different medical emergency, an ambulance from was requested. We work hand in hand with our partners from Ossining on a daily basis, as they provide advanced life support (ALS) for Briarcliff through the Tri-Community ALS agreement. Pictured is 53B1, and 74A1 after transporting their patients to Westchester Medical Center.
