Player-Care.com

Player-Care.com Player Pianos, How To Operate a Player Piano, How To Fix a Player Piano, Who Made Player Pianos, and much more.

I fixed my first player piano in 1970 while on vacation in Nebraska, and started working on them for a living in 1975. Player-Care.com was started in 1996 as a way to advertise my player piano service and repair business. Little did I know that it would take on a life of its own. Today, the site has hunderds of pages of free information as well as links to hundreds of other people in the industry.

Also available at Player-Care.com are QRS Music Rolls, Technical Materials, and Player Rebuilding Supplies.

Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year.

Someone on one of the other Facebook player piano pages was trying to find 'new' music on music rolls. I checked with QRS and they have a 2023 catalog available for download. Go to 'qrsmusic.com' and click on 'Support'. Then scroll down to 'Product Catalogs'. Then click on '2023 QRS Piano Roll Catalog'.

Just finished a custom designed/built brass Repeat switch for an Ampico B. The base of the switch is identical to the Ampico A Modify switch with a few modifications. A CAD file for the cap of the switch was created using a picture that was sent to me by the company in Switzerland that is rebuilding the piano for a museum in that country. That CAD file was sent to Shapeways, who 3-D printed the part in solid brass.

As a result of lengthy correspondence with Loren Steyer in Canada, I was able to gather enough information to create a web page about the AEolian Technola/Metrograde player system. It is one of AEolian's earlier systems which contains a few interesting devices not found in their other systems. I also created a tubing diagram of the system. To view my newest web page, go to:

Starting today, Player-Care is no longer shipping good overseas. Both USPS and UPS have made major changes that make processing the shipping label very complicated and time consuming, and we simply don't do enough volume of business to warrant hiring a 3rd party company to handle the paperwork. If you know of a company in the US that we can recommend to overseas customers, let me know. It might take a while to make all of the changes to the various webpages at the site. So, if you have a problem placing an order, give me a call at 732-840-8787.
