Brick Township Republican Party

Brick Township Republican Party The official Republican Club of Brick Township.

We stand with Republicans who put America, family, and community first — defending fiscal responsibility, freedom, and the conservative values that keep Brick strong. 🇺🇸

We were told there was a big show tonight… turns out it’s just two microphones fighting for attention. 🎪😂

Mike Calderese and Mike Crispi can keep yelling, spinning the truth, and pretending a livestream is a movement.

Meanwhile, Brick Republicans are doing what actually matters: fighting overdevelopment, working to stabilize taxes, pushing for safer roads, and above all, standing up for the people of Brick.

Not every meltdown needs a response.

Sometimes it just needs popcorn. 🍿🤌

A statement from the Republican Council Members of Brick Township: We are proud to stand together in support of the official Republican endorsed candidates.

We did our own research, did our homework, and made this decision with integrity and confidence.
While others spread lies, attack good Republicans, and try to divide our party, we remain focused on what matters most.

We stand with and fight for all Brick residents.

That means working to stabilize taxes, stop reckless overdevelopment, make our roads safer, and support leaders who are ready to do the work.

We saw this and could not agree more with Congressman Chris Smith. He is 100% right, and more people need to be saying it just as clearly.

Ocean County Republicans win because we show up, stay organized, and fight for the values our voters believe in.

While others chase attention by tearing down hard-working Republicans, our team is focused on electing them.

This primary, stay with the team that delivers results.

Residents have complained for years about unsafe roads, reckless driving, speeding, dangerous intersections, and pedestrian safety.

Why has Brick Township’s leadership waited for problems to become crises instead of taking proactive action to protect residents?

This is not about politics, nor is it’s about blaming our police. We support our law-enforcement. This is about leadership, overdevelopment, poor planning, lack of tougher enforcement, and Planning Board and Board of Adjustment decisions that keep putting residents at risk while on our roads.

Rubber-stamping projects and treating biased traffic studies as gospel is dangerous and wrong.

Enough is enough and we demand action is taken now before another life is taken. Brick deserves safer roads, responsible development, and proactive leadership. We cannot continue ignoring these warning signs and waiting for tragedy to force change.

PART 1: Mary Lou Powner, Power, Money, and Division

Below is the link to the longer version with the full timeline, records, and context:

This did not start with Mike Crispi or Michael Calderese. It started with Mary Lou Powner.

Part 1 outlines the pattern: Mary Lou was once removed from the club, later welcomed back, and eventually helped into the role of 1st Vice President by the same people she now attacks.

Then she turned on them.

According to the organization’s history, Mary Lou pushed for a coup against then-President Ruthanne Scaturro, accused Ruthanne and her husband of corruption and financial abuse, and failed to provide proof when trustees requested it.

She was placed on probation, continued violating bylaws, was removed from leadership, and ultimately expelled from the club.

The attacks continued afterward.

The record also shows Mary Lou publicly opposing Republicans in 2013 when she wrote “Why I’m Not Voting for Sangiovanni” and supported Democrat John Ducey over Republican Joe Sangiovanni.

That is not unity or Republican leadership.

The document also raises questions about her time in government, oversight criticism tied to the agency she led, civil collection-related records, and a tax lien record tied to Mary Powner listing the creditor as the State of New Jersey with court information marked “Superior Court - Criminal.”

To be clear, we are not claiming there was a criminal conviction. But when someone spends years attacking others’ integrity, the public has a right to review her record as well.

Since her removal from the club, Mary Lou has continued promoting division, misleading narratives, and attacks against the official Brick Republican Organization. She has aligned with Mike Crispi and Michael Calderese and supported unofficial Republican-branded groups that create confusion and division.

Different names. Same attacks.

This is not reform or unity.
This is a pattern of division.

Read Part 1 and decide for yourself.

More to come.
