I have wild animals in my attic. Can Animal Control remove them? Animal Control does not remove healthy wildlife from non-living spaces. Wildlife in roofing, attics, crawl spaces, basements, garages, and sheds may be removed with the assistance of a Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator (NWCO). Animal Control does not remove wasp nests or beehives. Please contact local pest control or a beekeeper. Animal Control will respond to wildlife currently in a living space (ex: bat in a bedroom, raccoon in your living room, etc.). Animal Control will also respond to injured wildlife. Remember: Please do not handle or feed wildlife! Will Animal Control trap stray cats? Animal Control is not able to trap and remove stray/feral cat populations. Bridgeport Animal Control strongly discourages the feeding of stray/feral cats due to possible rabies exposure risk. For more information on Trap/Neuter/Release and Trap/Neuter/Adopt, please contact local cat rescue groups. I need to give up my pet. Can I drop it off at the shelter? Bridgeport Animal Control is unable to accept owner-surrendered pets. Please contact a local rescue group for placement of your animals. For a list of rescue groups, please email [email protected]. I recently experienced a hardship and I’m having trouble feeding my pets. Can Animal Control help? Bridgeport Animal Control is happy to provide a Pet Food Pantry to our Bridgeport residents in need. Please call (203) 576-7727 to schedule a food pickup.
*While supplies last. Some restrictions apply*

Does B.A.C accept volunteers? Yes, we have recently started a new City Employee Volunteer program. Our volunteers will assist us in walking the dogs daily and enriching their lives so they become more adoptable. We hope to someday expand the program, but for now it is only open to city employees. For more information, please email us at [email protected]. I am not a City Employee, how can I help Bridgeport Animal Control? Bridgeport Animal Control is working towards many goals. Please check our page for our latest fundraising efforts and donation requests. Donations can also be made through our Amazon Wishlist. Would Animal Control be able to visit my school/event? Bridgeport Animal Control is passionate about educating the public on animal welfare, dog safety, and more. Contact [email protected] with details about your speaking request. How do I license my dog? If your dog is 6 months of age or older, you are required to obtain a dog license from your city or town of residence within 30 days of purchasing a dog. DOG OF THE DAY! Shania!

***ADOPTION SPONSORED***

You might be wondering if it's a mistake, but yes- Shania is still with us at BAC. This is no fault of her own! When our application asks about how you will meet your dog's exercise needs, please be honest! When the application asks if you will attend a training course to work on behavioral needs- please be honest! Shania is here because she ripped up a dog bed and dug holes in her new yard. When she came back to us, she was sweet and wiggly as ever. She's now spayed, vaccinated, and chipped- so if you're going to be her forever- apply today!

Let's go girls! I'm Shania! I'm a 2-year-old female spayed medium pittie mix. I tested well with other polite dogs and I was non-reactive in the cat room. I am always ready for a good time, tippy-tapping my feet whenever you walk by my kennel and sitting pretty to get your attention. I'm looking for my person, the person that's "Still the one!" so apply for me today!
