The Bridgeport Township Police Department has been serving the residents of Bridgeport since 1848 and has the following staff as of 01/01/2013: The Chief of Police, 1 Detective Sergeant, 1 patrol Sergeant, 4 full-time Patrol Officers and 1 civilian Clerk/Dispatcher. We serve approximately 10,700 residents and handled 7,239 calls for service in 2011. Our Officers are highly trained with most carryi

ng Bachelors’ degree and multiple in-service certifications. Our departments’ special assignments, such as Neighborhood Watch and Bike Patrol, have been suspended since 01/01/2011 due to budget restraints. We would like to remind people to be very careful with "Craigslist" cell phone purchases. We have had two reports of people buying stolen or non-working phones.

Starting May 2, 2011 Dixie Highway will be closed at the Cass River Bridge for Bridge repair until Novemember 2011 per MDOT. Detours should be posted.
