Yesterday our candidates, volunteers, and supporters toughed out a cold, rainy election day to support our Democratic nominees. As always, it's great to see friends and neighbors come out to vote!
First, the hotly contested Mayoral race, at this time, is too close to definitively call. As of this morning, Montgomery County is reporting approx. 20,000 uncounted mail-in votes. What we do know for sure is that Beth for Bridgeport ran an energetic, positive, well-received campaign and updates will be available throughout the day.
We also know that our three candidates for Borough Council swept their contests:
Amy Funahashi for Borough Council, Ward 1
Meghan Nolan for Borough Council, Ward 2
Tony Heyl for Borough Council, Ward 3
Big shout-out to our Judge of Election candidates on their wins - Steve Palchik and Lindsay Montemayor, as well as our new Ward 3 Constable Benjamin Biro!
Congratulations are also in order for the entire Upper Merion Area School District Democratic slate of candidates, including (on the Bridgeport ballot) Jenn Lyons - Candidate for UMASD School Board Director - At Large, Jason Jones - Candidate for UMASD School Board Director - At Large, and Troy Chiddick!
Thank you to everyone who stepped up to serve their community by running for office. Thank you for your donations, volunteerism, encouragement, and support. And most of all, thank you for VOTING!
