Our statewide network seeks to accomplish three main goals:
Empower, Educate, Advocate

Today is World Environment Day.

The environment is more than nature. It’s the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the communities we call home.

Climate change and environmental harm don’t impact everyone equally. Too often, immigrant communities, low-income communities, Indigenous communities, and communities of color face the greatest challenges.

Protecting our environment means protecting our communities.

This World Environment Day, let’s commit to a healthier, safer, and more sustainable future for all.

At a recent New Haven Board of Alders meeting, C4D member-organizer Valentina Diaz spoke about the reality many immigrant communities are facing and called on local leaders to take action to protect immigrant families.

Students, workers, and families should be able to go about their daily lives without fear.

Community pressure works.

For months, young people, immigrant families, organizers, workers, and community members across Connecticut and beyond spoke out against Avelo’s decision to profit from ICE deportation flights. Recently, Avelo announced the decision to step away from the partnership points to what we already knew: collective action made a difference.

Connecticut Attorney General William Tong recently released a memorandum to public officials, public agencies, and private organizations outlining policy guidance regarding immigration matters.

Knowing your rights matters. Whether you’re in a public space or a private one, understanding when ICE needs a judicial warrant can help protect you and your community.

Watch, save, and share this reel to help spread important information.

Last Friday, our Danbury members came together to prepare for an exciting milestone: high school graduation. During the meeting, they spent time designing their graduation caps and getting ready to celebrate all they’ve accomplished.

We’re proud to see our members making these moments their own and bringing their creativity, joy, and stories into such an important day. We can’t wait to see all they continue to achieve and the paths they build moving forward.
