We’re grateful to stand alongside CT Coalition Against Domestic Violence this in recognizing the realities of post-traumatic stress and the importance of support, compassion, and understanding for survivors.

PTSD can affect every part of a person’s life, but no one should have to navigate it alone.
By continuing to raise awareness and challenge stigma, we help create pathways to healing for survivors and their families.

At CFJ, we remain committed to amplifying survivor voices and supporting efforts that ensure everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.💜

🏳️‍🌈 Pride Month is about love, safety, and liberation. But for too many in the LGBTQ+ community, home is not a safe place.

At The Center for Family Justice, we know domestic violence thrives in silence and the data is clear:
⚠️ 54% of transgender and non-binary individuals experience abuse in their lifetime
⚠️ 61% of bisexual women and 44% of le***an women face intimate partner violence
⚠️ 37% of bisexual men and 26% of gay men experience domestic abuse

Barriers like fear of being outed, a lack of affirming shelter spaces, and systemic discrimination prevent many survivors from seeking the help they deserve.

This Pride, we stand in solidarity with survivors and commit to breaking the silence.
Because love is safe and everyone deserves it.

If you or someone you know needs support, confidential help is always available:

In just a few weeks, children in our community will arrive at Camp HOPE… carrying stories no child should have to carry.
Some arrive with fear.
Some with uncertainty.
Some with experiences they’ve never had the chance to share.

But something powerful happens here.💜

They begin to feel safe.
They begin to open up.
They begin to trust again.
They begin to believe in themselves—and in their future.

Camp HOPE America, a program of Alliance for HOPE International, is more than just a camp. It’s a proven pathway from trauma to healing.

Through The Center for Family Justice, children right here in our community gain:
🏕️ A sense of safety
🏕️ Positive mentors and role models
🏕️ Confidence, resilience, and hope

And the impact is real - national data shows lasting growth in confidence, optimism, and resilience long after camp ends.

See the results for yourself. Read the full 2025 national evaluation:

Last summer, we watched children arrive guarded and unsure…
and leave with laughter, friendships, and hope beginning to take root.

That transformation is why this work matters.

As we approach our June 30 fiscal year-end, we’re working to ensure every child who needs Camp HOPE - and continued care through our Child Advocacy Center - has access.

💜 Your support helps provide:
• Life-changing Camp HOPE experiences
• Year-round mentoring through Pathways to HOPE
• Trauma-informed care for children and families

When a child discovers hope, everything changes.

From shared stories to interactive moments, it was inspiring to see community impact in action.

Thank you to Fairfield County's Community Foundation and President & CEO Mendi Blue Paca for bringing us together to connect, collaborate, and celebrate what’s possible when we work together.

May 28 is LGBTQ+ Domestic Violence Awareness Day - a day to increase visibility, uplift survivors, and acknowledge the unique challenges faced within LGBTQ+ communities. 💜🏳️‍🌈

Domestic violence does not look the same for everyone.
LGBTQ+ survivors experience higher rates of abuse, often compounded by stigma, discrimination, and fear of not being believed or supported.

Many face added barriers to seeking help, including threats of being “outed,” isolation from support systems, and a lack of inclusive resources.

At The Center for Family Justice, we believe all survivors deserve to be seen, believed, and supported. Today and every day, we remain committed to providing affirming, inclusive services and standing alongside LGBTQ+ survivors on their path to safety and healing.

Join us in raising awareness, breaking stigma, and building a community where every survivor is supported.
