We extend our most sincere condolences to the family of Assistant Chief Allan G. Ketzell II and the members of the Brookside Fire Department. Chief Ketzell was so dedicated to the people of Brookside and to anyone who he was called to help. His legacy will live on as an example to anyone in the Fire/EMS world of what dedication truly looks like. Rest easy Chief. You will be greatly missed.

Smoke testing continues for our area.

The Belmont County Sewer Department will be conducting routine sewer smoke testing in the area to help identify leaks, breaks, and improper connections within the sewer system. During testing, you may see white or gray smoke coming from stacks, manholes, or on the ground near properties. The smoke is non-toxic, nonstaining, odorless, and harmless to people, pets, and plants. If smoke enters your home or building, please notify field personnel on site or contact 740. 695. 3144. Smoke entering a structure may indicate plumbing issues that may require attention. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we perform this important maintenance to improve the sewer system
