Introducing Your 130th DTC Slate:

We are excited to present our slate of candidates for the 130th Democratic Town Committee. A mix of veteran and distinguished leaders and fresh voices and perspectives, we are proud to represent the whole district – geographically, demographically, and politically. We endeavor to broaden and expand our local voting base.

We commit to the following:

To fulfill our core function of identifying and supporting local candidates.
To support the Democratic Party - locally, statewide, and nationally.
To hold public meetings on a quarterly basis.
To share information about party activities and opportunities, both locally and beyond.
To encourage participation from all local Democrats.
To explain local party activities and procedures.

Happy Martin Luther King Day. Ponder the words of King in these difficult times.

"Let us be practical and ask the question, How do we love our enemies?

First, we must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive…. Forgiveness does not mean ignoring what has been done or putting a false label on an evil act. It means, rather, that the evil act no longer remains as a barrier to the relationship….

Second, we must recognize that the evil deed of the enemy-neighbor, the thing that hurts, never quite expresses all that they are. An element of goodness may be found even in our worst enemy….

There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies. When we look beneath the surface, beneath the impulsive evil deed, we see within our enemy-neighbor a measure of goodness and know that the viciousness and evilness of their acts are not quite representative of all that they are. We see them in a new light. We recognize that their hate grows out of fear, pride, ignorance, prejudice, and misunderstanding, but in spite of this, we know God’s image is ineffably etched in their being. Then we love our enemies by realizing that they are not totally bad and that they are not beyond the reach of God’s redemptive love."

Good morning. Please make sure you exercise your right to vote in today's Democratic primary. Never forget that millions around the world do not have that right.
Here in the 22nd State Senate District, I ask for your support. The State Senate needs people with the character, skills, and competence to work on both state and local issues. I will work to protect your tax dollars, deliver more equitable funding for schools, and keep tackling the existential threat of climate change.

To our Black Rock and West End constituents,

As DTC Members of the 130th District, we are deeply troubled by allegations that could impact our inviolable right to have our voices heard and our votes counted.

We want to assure our voters that we in no way condone any abuse of the absentee ballot process. The criteria for absentee voting is set forth clearly in the application. Our district's town committee members provide applications only to those voters who are eligible. We adhere strictly to all applicable rules and regulations pertaining to this process.

We are committed to adhering to all applicable laws to ensure free and fair elections and look forward to swift resolution of these troubling events.
