🚨 Extreme Cold Weather Alert 🚨

As temperatures drop to dangerously low levels, we want to make sure everyone has a safe, warm place to go.

The GBTA bus station in downtown Bridgeport will remain open overnight as a warming center for anyone who needs shelter. Especially our unhoused neighbors.

If you know someone who may be outside tonight, please spread the word and encourage them to head to the station.

And if you see someone out in the extreme cold, please call our non-emergency line at 203-576-7671 and share their location.

Bridgeport Parks and Recreation is offering FREE Swimming Instruction at High Horizons Magnet School (700 Palisade Ave) Starting on October 20th.

Sessions are available for kids ages 5-7 and 8-10 with Monday or Wednesday evening time slots. Spots fill up fast, so don't miss out.

Registration begins on Monday September 29th at 7 Quarry Rd.

The East Side Branch renovation is going on. And we will be posting pictures to show the community of the ongoing work. Enjoy the pictures and hope to see all again inside the branch when we open. In this picture we see what was the YA section of the library. In this corner a staircase will be built and the YA section will be moved to the second floor.
