Another EPIC day at Grandma’s Camp with EPICS Keeping Your Cool Institute! 🐾💙

Today was filled with faith, fun, and learning as our campers began with prayer, sang “I’m a Soldier in the Army of the Lord,” made bold identity declarations, and reviewed our camp motto: Know Your Cool. Grow Your Cool. Show Your Cool. Share Your Cool. We also practiced our PAWS principles and learned valuable lessons from Moses about managing anger God’s way.

Our balloon activities helped campers understand their emotions in a fun and memorable way before we closed in prayer. The adventure continued with an exciting visit to The Magic House and lots of laughter in the James J. Eagan Center Game Room!

We’re building young leaders who are learning to pause, choose wisdom, and keep their cool—one EPIC day at a time!

Meet E-Panther! 🐾

E-Panther is the bold and inspiring mascot of the EPICS Keeping Your Cool Institute. More than just a superhero, E-Panther represents what it means to be one of God’s ambassadors—choosing patience, self-control, love, and wisdom even in the middle of big emotions and challenging moments.

Our E-Panther Ambassadors are passionate leaders, mentors, and role models who help children master the PAWS principles: Pray, Assess, Wait, Speak. They inspire campers to Know Your Cool, Grow Your Cool, Show Your Cool, and Share Your Cool by living out Christlike character in everyday life.

PAWS UP, E-Panthers! 🐾 Together, we’re raising up a generation that knows how to keep their cool, lead with confidence, and shine God’s love everywhere they go.

It’s More To Anger Than Meets The EYE. Anger was never meant to take root, it was designed to alert us to truth. Unmanaged anger is one of the key battlegrounds for spiritual warfare. What we’re seeing around the world, is no coincidence.

It’s almost time!! Get ready campers to know your cool, grow your cool, show your cool, and share your cool!! Camp is happening July 13th through the 19th.

It's more to anger than meets the eye. Anger is not simply “bad behavior,” but often a signal pointing to something deeper. Unresolved anger can create spiritual vulnerability, which is an access point that God's adversary uses to influence the minds and emotions of our youth.

The EPICS Keeping Your Cool Faith-based anger management program will equip campers with “Cool” E-Panther tools to help them understand anger, recognize their emotions, examine their thoughts and beliefs driving their behavior, respond in Christlike character, and grow emotionally and spiritually to walk in their God-given authority through biblical principles.

We still have openings and two free scholarships. Let's go, fam! 🙏🏾🙏🏾

God is on the move in our community. We’re excited to announce the launch and the first of many services of the EPICS Keeping Your Cool Institute's first-ever faith-based Anger Management program, in partnership with Grandma's Summer Camp Program, to help equip youth with biblical principles, emotional regulation skills, how to respond with wisdom, and cool tools for everyday life. We believe God transforms lives from the inside out.

Camp sponsorships are available for two youth through the EPICS J. R. Foundation Rose Davis (my beloved sister-in-law) Educational Scholarship fund.

I'm excited to announce the launch of the EPICS Keeping Your Cool Institute's first service, powered by EPICS Counseling Services: a faith-based Anger Management program, in partnership with Grandma's Summer Camp Program. This program aims to equip youth with biblical principles, emotional regulation skills, and wisdom to respond to everyday life situations. We believe God transforms lives from the inside out.

EPICS Counseling Services would like to share an announcement from our sister agency, EPICS J. R. Foundation.

EPICS J. R. Foundation would like to thank everyone for your continued support and wanted to share a brief update following our recent board meeting, along with an exciting look ahead. During the meeting, the board affirmed its shared commitment to strengthening youth through early intervention and skill-building supports. A key focus was the Anger Management Youth Program for our general and Christian community, which is moving forward as a priority initiative. Please help us welcome April Adams as our newest board member.

A big thank you to Stacey Jiles (314-384-3873), the owner of Soup Anytime, for catering our lunch; the salad, gumbo, tea, and gooey butter cakes were to die for. Everything was made fresh, packaged beautifully, delivered on time, and tasted scrumptious! Thank you for standing with us as we continue this work. We look forward to sharing additional updates as things develop. Thanks to the board for all you do. We’re off to a great start. Let's go 2026!!

EPICS Counseling Services is excited to announce that we will be adding The EPICS Keeping Your Cool Institute, which is a faith-based formation and educational arm of EPICS Counseling Services. The institute will equip the body of Christ to understand, steward, and sanctify anger through biblical formation, so emotions are no longer suppressed, ignored, or weaponized, but formed under the lordship of Christ. Stay tuned.

Real talk - Note to self: Lord, I accept Your divine invitation to respond in obedience, faith, repentance, and alignment with the truth of Your Word to fulfill Your ultimate purpose. In 1994, You placed this vision in my heart, and only through Your grace, not my own effort, will I be able to fulfill my purpose and destiny. “For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13) I submit my will and ask that Your will be done. Remember, purpose comes forth when God calls and you answer. Purpose is preordained (Jeremiah 1:5). It is revealed through process and comes forth when character can sustain it. Thank you in advance for the many lives that will be changed, the clarity You will reveal to the body of Christ, and souls that will be won for Your name’s sake! I can’t tell you how crazy I felt through this process, but God’s grace carried me through. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Happy New Year!! Real talk: God is sovereign. Keep believing, praying, walking in obedience, setting boundaries, repenting, trusting, surrendering, and don't be provoked to anger or violence. Remember, it's all part of the plan to fulfill His ultimate purpose!! “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” (I Peter 5:8) I’m excited about what God is doing and glad to be of service. Lord, your will be done.🙏🏾🙏🏾 -Selah-
