The Borough of Bridgewater is seeking a qualified individual to fill the recently vacated position of Tax Collector. This is a 2-year term.

Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and be able to learn necessary tax collection software. Upon appointment, Candidate must also successfully complete the Act 48 Tax Collection Basic Training and Qualification Exam ($200 fee) and be able to obtain a performance bond in the amount of $2.5 million. Bond fees are paid for by the Borough and School District.

The Tax Collector is responsible for mailing of the annual tax bills and collection of the real estate taxes assessed by both Bridgewater Borough and Beaver Area School District.

Interested Candidates must submit a letter of interest to the Borough Office no later than 3pm on February 10th.

The Borough of Bridgewater is seeking an interested member of the community to serve on The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Bridgewater.. This is an unexpired term, commencing upon appointment through December 31, 2027.

Residents can submit letters of interest to the Borough Office, and should do so before 3pm on February 17th.

The Municipal Authority meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday at 7pm in Council Chambers. The Municipal Authority Board is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipal sewage collection system, including two pump stations and the contract for treatment of the collected wastewater.

The Borough of Bridgewater is seeking an interested member of the community to serve on the Planning Commission. This is a 5-year term, commencing upon appointment through December 31, 2030.

Residents can submit letters of interest to the Borough Office, and should do so before 3pm on January 20th.

The Planning Commission meets monthly on the 1st Tuesday at 7pm in Council Chambers. The Commission reviews land development plans, commercial construction plans, recommends Zoning changes to Borough Council, among other things.

Due to the forecast for Thursday predicting heavy rain, strong winds and low temperatures the Borough of Bridgewater will be moving trick-or-treating to Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This change is being made for the safety of our children and the community. If you have any questions please contact the Bridgewater Borough Police Department or the Bridgewater Borough office.
