Special thanks to Liam Search and Rescue for sharing knowledge on Animal Safety for the 1st Responder.
Whether its a structure fire, vehicle accident or a large public event, you never know when an Emergency Responder will be tasked with providing 1st Aid / CPR to someone's pet.

As Telecommunicator's week winds down, we like to recognize Beaver County's crew for ther professionalism all year long.

We'd also like to spotlight our Assistant Chief Cole Zurik, who does a phenomenal job dispatching, responding to incidents, and raising a family with his wife Casey Zurik.

Thanks to all the dispatchers, past and present!

Tonight multiple agencies came together to rescue Willow, the missing dog from Beaver who spent the last six days out in this artic weather.
Thankfully, an individual walking across the Norfolk Southern train bridge between Bridgewater and Rochester spotted Willow and summoned help.
Chief Bates was the 1st arriving emergency responder and verified Willow was 20ft below grade on a 24 inch ledge of the railroad structure.
Beaver County Technical Rescue was requested to the scene, bringing emergency personnel from New Brighton (Rescue 84), Chippewa (Rescue 22), Aliquippa (Rescue 91) and Baden (Rescue 47). Due to extreme cold, EMS was requested to the scene to standby. AHN Squad 957 stood ready to address cold weather emergencies, or any other issues that may arise.
Bridgewater and Beaver Police Departments were also on scene.
On behalf of Bridgewater VFD - Engine Co. 28, a heartfelt THANK YOU to all Responders who helped Rescue Willow.

For just under a year now, our Chief Chuck Bates has been an Associate Member of the Rochester Fire Department, staffing their Fire station mostly on the overnight shifts.
On June 25, 2025, shortly after shift change, Rochester Fire was alerted to a Mass Casualty Incident at the Grace Lutheran Church where four roofers had been electrocuted. Chief Bates immediately responded from our Firehouse and assisted Rochester Fire, Rochester Police, Medic Rescue and Economy EMS.
For his efforts, Rochester Borough and Senator Vogel recognized him for his efforts at the Rochester Fire Department banquet this past Friday evening.
We are lucky to have such a faithful leader of our own organization and are beyond proud of his efforts here and beyond.
Great Job Chief!
