FORT KNOX, Ky. – The remains of U.S. Army Air Forces Staff Sgt. Merrill E. Brewer, 26, killed during World War II, will be interred Sept. 14, in Smith Cemetery, in Bridgewater, Maine. Duncan Graves Funeral Home will coordinate graveside services preceding the interment.

Flower pots have been set out on Main Street. If anyone is interested in taking a week to water, let me know at the Town office. We have a watering barrel that you can fill at the civic building and use. If any high school kids are looking for community service hours this would be a good opportunity to get some.

Flags have been placed at the cemeteries for the Veterans and Fire Fighters, if we have missed any, please let me know. I will make sure they get there.

Reminder: Dog licenses are due by January 31 to avoid a $25 late fee. Please bring in your current rabies certificates, and spay/neuter certificates when you come to do your license. $6 for dogs that are altered, and $11 for intact dogs.
