Central Valley Habitat for Humanity

Central Valley Habitat for Humanity Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International serving Harrisonburg and Rockingham County

All are Welcome :
Habitat for Humanity has an open door policy: All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people. In short, Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in need of

decent housing regardless of race or religion. As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.

The future of our city is built one family at a time. 🏡

When a family moves into a home they can afford, their future gets more secure. Those kids grow up in a safe environment, they go to local schools, and they get to decide who they want to become. Local stability is what we are building, and its effects are seen long after we finish each project.

Thank you to the volunteers, donors, and sponsors who make that opportunity possible.

Last Friday, we said goodbye to Jackie, our Harrisonburg ReStore, Manager.

During her time with us, Jackie brought dedication, energy, and a commitment to supporting the ReStore and Central Valley Habitat for Humanity's mission. The ReStore plays an important role in helping fund affordable housing efforts through the sale of donated furniture, building materials, home goods, and more, and Jackie worked hard to ensure its success.

We are grateful for the impact she made, the relationships she built, and the support she provided to our staff, volunteers, donors, and customers. Her contributions have helped strengthen our ReStore and our ability to serve the community.

Please join us in thanking Jackie for all her hard work and wishing her the very best in her next chapter. We know she has a bright future ahead, and she will always be a part of the Habitat family.

Thank you, Jackie, and best of luck on your next adventure! 🏠

In 2026, owning a home is harder than it has been in decades. Our mission is to make homeownership feel achievable for hard working people, those who are willing to put in sweat equity to reach the American dream of owning a home. Those are the families we serve, and we could not be more proud of the work we do together.

Thanks to our partnership with GiveSolar,100 Habitat homes across the Commonwealth are now powered by solar energy, including 20 built by CVHFH right here in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County! ☀️🏡

For our partner families, this means more than clean energy. It means lower monthly utility bills, greater financial stability, and another step toward long-term affordable homeownership. Every dollar saved on electricity is a dollar that can be invested back into a family's future.

This achievement would not have been possible without the generosity of our donors, volunteers, community partners, and the vision of GiveSolar. Together, we're not just building homes. We're building stronger, more sustainable futures for the families we serve.

A partnership between Habitat for Humanity Virginia and GiveSolar has reached 100 solar-powered homes across the commonwealth, coinciding with Central Valley Habitat for Humanity’s milestone of 20 solar-powered homes in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

There is something powerful about a family helping to build the place they will call home.

Families who partner with us pour sweat equity into their homes and buy them with an affordable, zero percent interest mortgage. It is a shared effort, start to finish.
