As the School Year Begins
A new school year should be filled with learning, friendship, and growth—not fear or isolation.
If a child encounters antisemitism in school, online, or anywhere in the community, it is important to respond, document, and seek support. Speaking up helps protect not only one child but strengthens safety for the entire community. Every report helps us take action and advocate for change.

A warm kosher meal is more than nourishment. It's comfort, dignity, and a reminder that someone cares.
For many homebound older adults in our community, access to nutritious meals can mean the difference between remaining safely at home or facing greater isolation and hardship.
That's why advocacy matters.
Working alongside Jewish Federations across New Jersey, the Jewish Federation of West-Central New Jersey advocated for state funding for kosher senior nutrition programs—a need that had gone unmet for far too long. Thanks to Governor Phil Murphy's inclusion of this funding in the state budget for FY 2026, our Federation received a $43,342 grant and directed every dollar to Jewish Family Service.
The result? More homebound and frail seniors throughout Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren Counties are receiving nutritious meals delivered to their homes, helping them stay healthy, independent, and connected.
This is what your Federation does every day—bringing together advocacy, partnerships, and community support to improve lives.
Together, we're ensuring our seniors can age with dignity.

"The women's personal hygiene products are really a blessing."
When Shayna visits the Food Bank Network of Somerset County, every dollar matters. Especially during the holidays, when expenses pile up, basic hygiene items like shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, and menstrual products often become luxuries she simply can't afford.
That's why receiving a Dignity Grows tote means so much.
"The products help me through for at least two months," Shayna shared. "It is helpful to receive them when we do, during the holidays when my budget gets stretched for every penny."
Through Dignity Grows, the Jewish Federation of West-Central New Jersey provides neighbors with a month's supply of essential hygiene products—items that aren't covered by food assistance programs but are vital to health, confidence, and dignity.
Thanks to our volunteers and supporters, in 2025 we:
💜 Packed 1,200 Dignity Grows totes
💜 Invested $13,788 in essential hygiene supplies
💜 Partnered with local organizations to reach families throughout our community
Every tote is more than a bag of supplies. It's dignity. It's hope. It's the reassurance that someone cares.
Together, we can ensure no one has to choose between buying groceries and purchasing basic hygiene products.

What does security look like?
It looks like children learning, families celebrating Shabbat, seniors gathering, and our community coming together safely.
Security is no longer optional, it's essential. Last year, the Jewish Federation of West-Central New Jersey invested 26% of its Annual Campaign to help protect Jewish life across our community through security, training, and preparedness.
Now we need your voice. 📢 Contact your elected officials and urge them to support the Jewish American Security Act.
