Happy Memorial Day!

This week, members of Brighton FD visited numerous cemeteries in the Rochester area to plant memorial flags on the graves of past members. Today, and every Memorial Day, is a good day to remember their service.

It was a busy weekend for BFD supporting events in our community. We had a wet Saturday afternoon supporting Girls on the Run. Luckily the weather improved for the Lilac 10k and the Brighton Ambulance Open House today.

Andrew Chiang has been a member of the Brighton Fire Department since September 2024. When he’s not busy with the BFD, he’s busy at his work as a Data Analyst.

Andrew enjoys training and responding alongside his fellow department members. He participates in the Department’s Squad program and helps crew an apparatus in his spare time. “I value the teamwork and camaraderie that comes with being a volunteer firefighter - knowing that everyone is working together for a greater purpose makes the experience incredibly rewarding.”

When asked about a personal fun-fact, Andrew shared that he has lots of pets -- 6 in total with hopes to add to a lizard to this fun-loving family of friends!

Members of Brighton FD participated in the American Lung Association Stair Climb at Buffalo’s Sahlen Field.

The event raised over $200,000 for research to find a cure for lung cancer and other lung diseases.
