This yearโ€™s theme is โ€œIt Starts With You.โ€

When a cardiac emergency happens, every second matters. The actions taken in the first few minutes can mean the difference between life and death. Thatโ€™s why knowing how to perform CPR and use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is so important.

Did you know?
โœ”๏ธ Immediate CPR can double or even triple a personโ€™s chance of survival.
โœ”๏ธ Most cardiac arrests happen outside of a hospital, often at home.
โœ”๏ธ Anyone can learn CPR and become someoneโ€™s lifesaver.

At Three Star Volunteer Fire Department, we believe preparedness starts with our community. Whether youโ€™re a parent, teacher, coach, student, or neighbor, learning these lifesaving skills empowers you to act when it matters most.

This week, take a few minutes to learn about CPR, locate AEDs in your workplace or community, and encourage others to do the same.

As temperatures continue to rise across Tipton County, itโ€™s important to know the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Recognizing the symptoms early could save a life.

๐Ÿšจ Heat Exhaustion:
โ€ข Heavy sweating
โ€ข Dizziness or weakness
โ€ข Cool, pale, clammy skin
โ€ข Muscle cramps
โ€ข Nausea or vomiting

โžก๏ธ Move to a cool place, drink water, and cool down immediately.

๐Ÿ›‘ Heat Stroke:
โ€ข Body temperature above 103ยฐ
โ€ข Hot, red, dry skin
โ€ข Throbbing headache
โ€ข Confusion or unconsciousness
โ€ข Rapid, strong pulse

โš ๏ธ Heat stroke is a medical emergency โ€” CALL 911 immediately.

๐Ÿš’ Training Night at Three Star VFD ๐Ÿš‘

Last night, our volunteers sharpened their skills during Fire Ground Operations training. From communication and coordination to hose deployment and tactical decision-making, our crew continues putting in the work to stay ready for whatever call comes next.

But fire training is only part of the job. Throughout the training, we also incorporated EMS scenarios and medical response operations because many emergencies require both fire suppression and patient care working hand in hand. Our members train to be prepared for the entire scene โ€” not just the fire.

Weโ€™re proud of the dedication our volunteers show week after week to continue learning, improving, and serving this community.

Because when the ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€ drop, preparation matters. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš‘
