It’s a new year, and our fight continues to protect the Brighton community from the increased traffic that we’ve already seen with just 5% of the Whole Foods plaza open. We don’t oppose a Whole Foods, but the traffic is going to get a LOT worse when potentially 22 stores open in the plaza. Our trial continues, and if we win Brighton residents will get a chance to vote on the plaza’s size. Shrink the plaza, ease the traffic: http://bit.ly/BGR-EmailList

BGR will continue to fight to keep the Auburn Trail in its original location, Shrink the plaza size, and protect Monroe Avenue and the adjacent residential neighborhoods. As DOT had predicted would happen, Monroe Ave is already often gridlocked, and that is with only 5% of the plaza opened.

We are in the final stretch of holiday shopping, and the awful traffic on Monroe Ave (with just the Starbucks open) has made it clear that this corridor can’t handle potentially 22 stores in the Whole Foods plaza.
