Well the rain can stop 🛑, 1.6" Saturday morning and 2.1" in that little shower Saturday night for a total of 3.7". This is on the north side of town. South of town around the sewer plant totals have been higher. Sunshine and cooler weather will be here eventually. Stay safe!

A little more rain, 6:30 a.m. 1.4" and still a light rain coming down. I don't think we need to worry about any vegetation fires for awhile. Stay safe.

The rain can stop for awhile, Thursday 1.8" and so far today 2.2" with more on the way. Reports of 3" South part of Brighton on Thursday. Stay safe.

For the month of July Brighton Fire had 2 calls of service. That makes a total of 26 for the year. The month of August we have 2 service anniversary's. Mark Cobb will have 46 year's on the 11th. and Mike Hesseltine will have 2 years on the 17th, that gives Mike a total of 23 years with his first stint. Everybody stay safe!

A long list of thank you's to go out for the help at the house fire in Brighton yesterday. We had 69 firefighters from 6 different departments. Thanks to Washington, Wayland, Richland, Crawfordsville, and Ainsworth Fire Departments. Thanks to Washington County Sheriff's Dept., Washington Co. Emergency Management and Washington Co. Dispatch. Thank you to Brighton QRS and Washington Co ambulance. Thank you to Kim and Mary and several other people with helping keep the coolers full of cold drinks. Thanks to Washington County EM and Casey's for the pizza. Hopefully I didn't leave anybody out, everybody stay safe.

For the month of June Brighton Fire had 3 calls for service, that makes a total of 24 for the year. We have 1 service anniversary in the month of July, Tony Entsminger will have 1 year on the 14th. Tony is on leave now as he also serves in the military and is deployed now. Thank you Tony for your service to the fire department and service. Everybody stay safe!

For the month of May Brighton Fire had 5 calls for service, we are at a total of 21 for the year. In the month of June we have 3 service anniversary's, Justin Glaspie 2 years on the 10th, Jason Leffler 19 years on the 11th. and Curt Mottett 3 years on the 12th. Everybody stay safe!

For the month of April Brighton Fire had 1 official call for service, we went out for a tornado warning. We also went out 3 other times for tornado warnings, just didn't count as a call for service. We are at 16 total for the year. We have 2 service anniversary's in the month of May, Dave Hagans has a milestone anniversary of 20 years and Kris Lowe has 17 years of service. Stay safe!

We have no service anniversary's in the month of April. For March we had 4 calls for service, all wildland/ grass fires. With the rains hopefully out of control grass fires go away. Wind and hot weather can dry it out fast again. Several crp fields that farmers still need to burn. Stay safe.
