Elevated fire danger again today! Be mindful of activities that could create sparks & always properly dispose of cigarettes💥

Very warm temperatures, low humidity, and gusty winds this afternoon will result in an environment favorable for rapid fire spread over the plains of northeastern Colorado, particularly for areas that have not received significant rainfall and sufficient green-up. A Red Flag Warning is in effect from noon to 8 pm for relative humidity in the low teens and west winds expected to gust into the 30-40 mph range, strongest near the Wyoming border.

Hot, windy and dry today for most of us; keep your sparks to yourselves today! ☀️

Hot, windy and dry today for most of us; keep your sparks to yourselves today! ☀️

Today will be a hot day with widespread 90s across the plains. Critical fire weather conditions are possible for the plains east of I-25, especially for locations that did not receive significant rainfall on Monday. Finally, isolated severe storms are possible for our far northeastern counties where a Marginal risk (Level 1 out of 5) is in effect. Any high-based showers this afternoon could produce gusty winds up to 60 mph across the plains.

Due to high winds and low relative humidity, the National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag Warning for Adams County today, June 9, from noon-9 p.m.

A few severe storms will be possible across northeast Colorado this afternoon and evening. Isolated to scattered storms are expected to develop along the I-25 Corridor by mid afternoon and quickly intensify, and then move east across the plains through early evening. Very large hail expected from any severe storms, although some will produce high wind and a threat of tornadoes. Stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings. If storms approach your area, move your car to a garage if time permits to do so safely.

The threat of large to very large hail is increasing for this afternoon, especially for areas around I-70 from just east of Downtown Denver to the Kansas Border (hail of 3+ inches will be possible). Make sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings and take the necessary safety precautions if a warning is issued for your area!

Avoiding insurance pitfalls and scams is easy when you know the steps.

Avoid Pitfalls by:

✅Doing routine home maintenance check-ups. Preventing damage from water losses and other typical in-home disasters that can often be avoided may save you from future headaches and financial risk.

✅Getting insurance early! Learn the claims history on the property you own and the property you’re buying.

If you want to know of prior losses that may impact the availability or price of your new home’s insurance, ask the seller to provide a copy of the home’s loss history report (called a CLUE ® or A-PLUST Report) with the disclosure statements.

✅Doing your homework. To order a CLUE ® Report, see www.choicetrust.com. To order a copy of your A-PLUST Report, call 1-800-709-8842.

Be scam savvy: STOP 🛑 CALL ☎️ CONFIRM ✅

If you are unsure about an insurance company or agent, STOP before signing any paperwork or paying any money; CALL the Division of Insurance at (303) 894-7490 to CONFIRM the company or agent offering insurance is legitimate and licensed to sell insurance in Colorado.
