The Fire Department will not be issuing burn permits until further notice.

We ask all residents to refrain from burning anything at this time—permitted or otherwise. These precautions are necessary to help protect our community and reduce the risk of fire hazards.

We are still going at flushing hydrants. Today we will be flushing hydrants in the Brighton Village Loop, and Old Hwy near the school areas.

The Fire Department will be flushing fire hydrants today in the following areas:
📍 Subdivisions off of Old Hwy 51

Residents may notice temporary discoloration in their water and a slight drop in water pressure during this time, this is normal.

💧 If you experience discolored water, we recommend letting your water run for a few minutes until it clears.

📍 W. Oaklawn Dr
📍 W. Woodlawn Ave

Residents may notice temporary discoloration in their water and a slight drop in water pressure during this time, this is normal.

💧 If you experience discolored water, we recommend letting your water run for a few minutes until it clears.

🚒 Firefighter Training Update 🚒

Our Firefighter Basic class continues in Brighton, and this past weekend recruits focused on teamwork—learning how to move hose lines effectively to extinguish fires.

Recruits from Brighton and Atoka have officially reached the halfway point of their training. Over the next month, they’ll take part in even more hands-on drills and advanced techniques to continue honing their skills.

We are incredibly grateful for these dedicated volunteers who give their time, energy, and commitment to help protect their communities. Thank you for answering the call to serve! 👏🔥
