Thanks for visiting Children Impact. The purpose of this non-profit organization was established is exclusively to provide financial and educational support for poor and underprivileged children in the United States and around the world.

This organization was established two years ago by my husband Eric Teo and I. We started the journey to help underprivileged and poor children and orphans more than 35 years ago in Malaysia. The home is called House of Faith - in Malay it is “Rumah Faith”. Since then it’s been renamed to “Desa Amal Jireh” which means Jireh Charity Village. This is because they have grown from a few houses to a whole village!
Eric was part of the board and I went there to provide tuition to the children. The home started in a small rented home and today its a ministry with its own facilities on acres of land that has served about 100 children and helped thousands of children graduate from the program to become productive citizen of the community.
Eric & I always have deep love and compassion to serve underprivileged children because they cannot care for themselves and they need responsible adults to support and guide them through life. We immigrated to US in 1990, and we continue to support this ministry by including Desa Amal Jireh in the international mission support of a local church.
We also adopted our son Ezra from San Mateo county as part of our personal mission to help “one child at a time” because we know we have sufficient resources to help at least one child at that time. Since then, God has blessed us financially and God is calling us for our “Second Act” - to build a non-profit charitable organization and grow our influence to connect with our network to help more children in such predicaments.
Our focus is on poor underprivileged children, orphans, and children in adverse predicaments. It took us about two years to complete the process of getting the organization set up with the help of Secretary Ed Swift.
So far, we have raised $10,000 and donated to three non-profit organizations:
US Non-profit Organization:
Shiloh United School in San Mateo County, CA. We selected this school because it is operated by a kind and compassionate leader David Swift and he welcomes many immigrant children to his school at a scaled down tuition fee and provides scholarships for the poor and families that recently immigrated.

Overseas Non-profit Organizations:
Desa Amal Jireh in Malaysia is a home for poor and underprivileged children. Rev. KK Sinnadurai is a saint and his wife Kamala is an angel of the world. They have dedicated their life and time to care for and develop children from 2 years old to adulthood guiding them to be productive contributors to society. They also train their own children to continue this legacy to raise funds and serve the growing needs of the poor and destitute.

Helping Hands in Kenya, Africa. Helping Hands Organization of Kenya integrates disadvantaged children and children with disabilities in vocational training by offering them skillful and practical training. They also offer a diploma class for church and community leaders in partnership with Pan Africa Christian University in Nairobi. This organization was started by Hellmut and Elsie Mascher and it is now continuing through their son.

Children Impact is a Section 23701 (d) corporation exempt from tax under the Revenue and Taxation Code in the state of California. IRS exemption under 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code is pending. All donations retroactive to November 2019 will be considered tax-deductible upon approval.
