With the passage of Measure JJ at the November 2018 ballot, the Brisbane voters supported a General Plan Amendment (GPA) that would allow housing on the Baylands site. At the March 22nd meeting, the Brisbane City Council Meeting made a motion to draft a General Plan amendment to allow 1,800 to 2,200 housing units and up to 4M sq.ft. of commercial development on the Baylands. By comparison, the original proposal includes 4,434 homes and 7M sf of commercial. The General Plan amendment will be put to a vote in November for approval by Brisbane residents.
