🌪️ Tornadoes can develop quickly with little warning, so it's important to know what to do before severe weather strikes.

If a tornado warning is issued, move immediately to the lowest level of a sturdy building and into an interior room away from windows. If you're outdoors or in a vehicle, seek sturdy shelter as soon as possible.

Have multiple ways to receive weather alerts and make sure your family knows where to take shelter.

Early Morning Structure Fire on Meadow Lane Quickly Contained; No Injuries Reported

At approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning, the Bristol Fire Department responded to Meadow Lane for a reported structure fire. A Bristol Police officer on patrol first observed a fire on the exterior of a residence that had begun to extend into the building. The officer immediately assisted the occupants in evacuating the home safely.

Fire Department personnel arrived and initiated an aggressive attack on the fire, which had extended into the attic. Crews brought the incident under control within 20 minutes. No injuries were reported.

The Rhode Island State Fire Marshal’s Office assisted with the investigation and determined that the fire originated in a generator that had been running due to a power outage in the area.
Our focus now turns to assisting the occupants in their recovery process during this difficult time'
