Tonight our clocks will fall back 1 hour but our missions are always moving forward. Follow our motto, Semper Paratus, and Always Be Prepared when out on the water.

Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend—don’t forget to adjust your clocks! With less daylight, it’s crucial to stay vigilant while boating. Always check your safety equipment, and let someone know your plans before heading out. Also take this as an opportunity to change your clocks and change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Stay safe and enjoy the water!

Get prepared for Fall!!

Cool weather is coming, so its time to check on your cold weather gear and review the risks of operating in cold weather.

Even though the air is still warm, water temperatures will decrease and making the risk of suffering from hypothermia higher. Dress appropriately, check the weather and always wear your lifejacket.

Lancaster Flotilla Presents Auxiliary Commandant's Letter of Commendation

Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 053-19-04 recently recognized one of their members for his service as the Flotilla Boat Committee Coordinator. Auxiliarist Anthony Madonna was awarded the Auxiliary Commandant’s Letter of Commendation Award for his demonstration of exceptional competence and technical skill while applying his knowledge of vessel operations characteristics in support if the Auxiliary boat crews and the boating public. During the years 2021 and 2022, he devoted over 50 crew hours and personally oversaw the launching and retrieval of the Flotilla’s facility at the beginning and end of the seasons’ weekend patrols. He debriefed the crews and ensured that all required actions where taken to maintain vessel readiness for future missions. He showed superior leadership in the coordination of over $2300 dollars of cost effective maintenance and repairs, as well as ensuring the safe transportation of the facility to and from its winter storage facility. His efforts greatly enhanced the operational readiness of the Flotilla and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
