This morning, VA-TF4 participated in an exercise in conjunction with Damascus and Abingdon Fire. The drill was in preparation for the crews beginning work on the Virginia Creeper Trail to rebuild after the destruction of hurricane Helene. We are thankful for the opportunity to work with our regional partners to continue to make Soutwest Virginia a safer place to live and work.

We would like to congratulate Captain Brandon Moore on his graduation from the Emergency Management Institute's Basic Academy. This academy spans several different topics to include public information, natural disasters, EOC operations, among others. The academy can take months, or for some even years to complete. Captain Moore serves as one of our squad leaders, as well as the Deputy Emergency Manager for the City of Bristol. Congrats Capt!

We often get asked why black and orange, and to that we say... great question! The truth is we are proud to represent our hometown here in southwest Virginia. Everyone in the area knows that black and orange are the colors of the Virginia High Bearcats! With some help from School Resource Officer Barlow, we were able to grab a few pics with the school's activity bus and our new truck.
